Couple quick questions:

- How long is it appropriate to wait after NOA2 to call NVC to get the case # and IID?

- Can you request expedite of the case in NVC?

Thanks a lot!

When i called they said 20 days...some say 30 days. I have seen others receive their case# and IID number sooner. They can confirm whether or not they received the case within a week or so of NOA2. I never got an email letting me know that my mom's case was shipped after I received NOA2 on 03/17/2014 but when i called NVC the case was received on 03/25/2014.

Yes, AOS I-864 for each parent. Now, you will have to wait for the NVC number and Invoice Identification number to be assigned, before you can do anything else, it takes 2-8 weeks. You can start call

The petitions for parents are separate, though, and only one parent is listed on each petition. My guess would be multiple persons applies to the beneficiary with dependents, i.e. IR-1/2 or K-3/4. AO

That was rude. He should have at least been able to tell you whether or not it was in the building. I'm calling again on Friday to see if by some stroke of luck they have assigned a case number. I've been lucky to talk to some fairly well mannered people when i call.

Can someone add my timeline for my parents please? The details are on my timeline for both my mom and dad. So far, they are both trending the same timestamps. I-130 approved in 3 weeks!!! This is the fastest one I have seen!!!

3.21.2014: Received email notification with case # for both petitions; case forwarded to NBC for processing

3.21.2014: Check cashed

4.08.2014: Both I-130 approved (notification received via email) - It only took three weeks!!!

4.11.2014: Received NOA2 approval notice in the mail.

5.01.2014: Called NVC to ask for status of paperwork. Advised they received both application on 4.28. Advised to call in 30 business days for an update.

6.02.2014: Email notification received from NVC that shows parents' NVC case number and instructions to pay AOS Fee and fill out DS 261.

6.03.2014: Paid AOS fee ($88 for both petitions)

Thanks Kerran!! Neither I nor my mom is married so the marriage cert wouldn't apply. I don't think I sent a copy of my naturalization certificate in when I submitted I-130 but I will make sure to at least send a copy with the IV packet when the time comes. Thanks Kerran!! Neither I nor my mom is married so the marriage cert wouldn't apply. I don't think I sent a copy of my naturalization certificate in when I submitted I-130 but I will make sure to at least send a copy with the IV packet when the time comes. She didn't take the stuff they asked for that I already sent to NVC, like the police certificate, etc.

She brought her passport, passport size pictures, interview letter and medical packet.

OK The same thing for My Mom. NVC did not ask for some more documents and said on the letter that all the documents submitted to them will be forwarded to US Embassy. only thing it confused me is " photocopies of all civil documents " I thought that's included with all the documents I submitted to NVC and they will forward those? can you shed a light on this? Thanks.

They ask for photocopies just in case they lose anything you sent them. So yes NVC will forward the documents you sent to the embassy but it's your responsibility to bring a copy also.

My mom didn't bring anything I already sent to NVC. We ran the risk of them asking for these documents but luckily they had all of them.

Ok cool. I'm not using a joint sponsor so I guess that the I don't have to send my naturalization cert or passport.

The Police Cert takes 21 days unless you expedite...my mom is picking hers up on 04/22/2014 and will be using that new international EMS service that they have in JA now to send all the docs to me.
