Imo too much emphasis is placed on personal attacks and not on the blatant homophobia, racism and anti Muslim bigotry that pervades the boards.

If anything I think it is becoming increasingly clear that moderation on vj is counter productive at best, inflammatory at worst.

Members are never publicly informed of what administrative-type action may or may not have taken place against another member. In other words, you are jumping to conclusions.

You can have all the problem that you want with it. But if you violate the TOS, we are required to step in.

I've been on the internet for a very long time and this has been one of the most racist places I have ever been online. And its not just this single issue, its many things . One guy was saying things like " When I tell my wife to do something she will do it, or I will make her" and "if she doesnt I will send her back to the jungle"

It is lamentable that there is racism in this world. As this is a multi-national and multi-ethnic site, it is especially abhorrent. All members are encouraged to help minimize racist posts by using the "Report" button.

I see people being attacked and the mods do nothing to help the person being attacked, but when someone posts hateful comments, the mods defend it . Why is that?

Mod attention is report-driven. When you see a post violating the TOS, please report it.

That rule should be changed. If you can't post something in public, you shouldn't post it in private.

As for as administrative actions, those should be posted in bold, on the post(s) that caused the action(s). If the material is that questionable, a synopsis should be provided.

Frankly, why do adults need moderating? This is a free site about immigration with some very knowledgeable and helpful people. And some trolls as well. Take what you can, grow a thicker skin or GTFO. I have never understood how people can get their panties in a bunch because of something someone said on an anonymous internet forum.

And I refuse to believe that VJ or any of the moderators activately "support" the death of 15 people. Don't be absurd.

The "upper forums" (including the regionals) are not supposed to be a "if you don't like it, leave" kind of place.

To the OP, sometimes moderators make mistakes. Before you go pointing fingers, it's best to try to bring the matter to their attention again. Boing's recent antics should be confined to OT, if tolerated at all.
