I am very confused abput the 404 that we have to pay in NVC journey, what is it for?? is it for the interview? my husband paid it to NVC and then in the ionterview they charged me 404 again, is thos other fee apart or did we pay twice?

I'm pretty sure you are only supposed to pay once. The $404 is for the Immigration Visa application (correct me if I'm wrong). Did your husband pay the fee online? Or by check? Either way, ask him if he has some type of proof that the fee was already paid. Good luck.

The $404 paid to NVC is for the visa and interview at consulate. The consulate should only be charging this fee if the paperwork was filed in country as in DCF cases.

Sounds like you got double billed, good luck trying to get your money back from the consulate.

I think you got duped. Did you show the receipt? Your spouse had to pay this fee before the NVC process began except for a DCF filing (as noted by YuandDan above). If you are still in Bogota I would take the receipts to the embassy.
