I've been waiting to see if anyone else would start this but no one has, so here we go!

I got my second touch today. I know they don't mean much, but it was very exciting :thumbs:

June 7, 2010 - Will asked me to marry him, and I said YES!!
October 4, 2010 - Will sent away the I-129F Petition
October 12, 2010 - NOA1 received!
October 15, 2010 - First "touch"
October 18, 2010 - Second "touch"
March 7, 2011 - NOA2!!!
March 18, 2011 - NVC forwarded our case to the Montreal Consulate....NOT where we wanted it to go!
March 25, 2011 - Email from Montreal saying that our case would be forwarded to Vancouver - only took one night for a reply from them smile.png
April 5, 2011 - Vancouver has our package!
April 6, 2011 - Received Packet 3 via email - now just waiting on my police certificate.
April 13, 2011 - faxed Packet 3 to Vancouver
April 14, 2011 - received Packet 4 via email
May 4, 2011 - Medical appointment
May 5, 2011 - Interview!! APPROVED smile.png

June 16, 2011 - POE at Blaine Peace Arch Crossing
June 28, 2011 - Got married by Elvis in Vegas!
Aug 8, 2011 - Received SSN in the mail.

Aug 31, 2011 - Sent off AOS Package
Sept 7, 2011 - Package received by USCIS
Sept 9, 2011 - Notice of Action email for AOS, EAD, and AP.
Sept 16, 2011 - Received my Biometrics Appt. letter for the 30th.

We still waiting for the NOA1 to come through :( Guess it is only day 2 since my Fiance called... But still... hate the waiting :) lol...

What does "touch" mean and do you get a notification of these or can you track your process? If you can track your process how do you do it?? :)

Oh!!! maybe something I can answer.

When you get your NOA1 it will have your case number included. It might start with the letters "WAC". You can then go to uscis.gov and check the status. Look on the left side of the screen for "Check my case status". You will need to click there and then you will see a place where you can enter your case number. The screen will show you what stage your case is in. The display is not detailed. There are lots of posts here on VJ that say their case status never changed on USCIS web site. While you are looking at the status, check the menu to the left. You can sign up for email updates.

And you will become an expert at waiting :)

And you will become an expert at waiting :)

You can also set up an account. This will show you when they last updated or "touched" your case. The page your talking about will probably show it in "initial review" most of the time.

If you go to the left and say "sign into my account" or "open an account" you can make a user name and password and then when thats done you add your case number to it.

Once you add your case number to your account, it will show you when the file was last updated. In my case it first said the date they issued the NOA1, then the 15th, and then it said the 18th. So I knew that they had touched it twice since sending me an NOA1.

Apparently the touches don't mean much. Some get lots of touches and it still goes as slow as those who get no touches. HOWEVER, I get excited, because it means someone touched my file :P

Hope you get it soon! I know what you mean, this is going to completely occupy my life for the next five months until I get my NOA2. I had to force myself off the computer this morning and go read a book so I was doing ANYTHING else.

Just wait till you get your NOA1 and case number. You'll be checking the site everyday looking for touches!

1/12/2015 - Application sent to Phoenix service center by USPS priority mail

1/14/2015 - Package received in Phoenix

1/16/2015 - NOA date (hard copy received 1/22)

1/20/2015 - Check cashed

2/09/2015 - Biometrics

2/11/2015 - In line for interview

3/28/2015 - Hard copy interview notice received

4/29/2015 - Interview at Chicago field office - Approved!!!

5/22/2015 - Oath ceremony - Now a US citizen!!!!!!

I am joining the group as well, we received our NOA1 copy via mail October 12 th :) Apparently I set up an account on uscis.gov to follow my case but everytime i am trying to log in an error occures :( So I can't see anything about my case. Anyway good luck to all October Filers and hopefully CSC is speeding up!
