We need details if we're going to be able to help.

First of all, your "wife" cannot file for a K1 visa. A K1 visa is for people who are engaged to be married, and not for people who are already married.

Second, none of the various petitions required during the entire K1 immigration process would be sent to a service center in Nevada.

Which stage of the K1 immigration process are you at? The first stage is I-129F petition. The second is visa application at the US consulate. The third is the I-485 green card application. The fourth is the I-751 removal of conditions.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!

Sounds like the US citizen paid someone to file the paperwork and now this person has disappeared. I would suggest your wife/fiance join this site and begin by reading the guides at the top for the appropriate petition to file. As to your money without more information I couldn't begin to tell you what happened to it.

That is what it sounds to me as well.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

ah - ok - so was a lady in an office, she quit, the papers were lost, and yer fiancee paid monies to that office to get it filed INTO USCIS.

'that office' was a private business.

The hard bit - if it's been more than 2 years since yer fiancee has SEEN you -

she won't be eligible to file until she's SEEN YOU AGAIN.

So, if she's eligible, strongly suggest that YOU prepare a new G-325A form, get some passport photos, (plus other stuff?) and send it in to yer fiancee - then yer fiancee files a NEW I-129F petition to USCIS.

OR

maybe yer fiance already has some notice from USCIS about the I-129F petition? You should ask yer wife to find out - ask her to call USCIS, get a Tier 2 Human, ISO - see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5 , and yer wife can inquire if there's any casefile status (yes, even without any receipt notices in hand - all can be cross-referenced with names and dob and petitioner's SSN) .

Good Luck !

(email this page as a link to yer fiancee - clickable link to send, below)

What office, USCIS is not an office its a bunch of offices?

What did you pay/ file for?

You dont really have enough info for people to help you.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

If you call the USCIS callcenter, you are speaking to untrained monkeys... as Darnell says, always ask for a Second Tier Human, ie a supervisor/ immigration official (the people who answer the phones initially are customer service reps, not immigration officials).

What did you file and when?

Did you get any NOA? When? If not, was the cheque cashed? When?

When were you told you needed to "fix papers", and when did you send them back in?

merging with duplicate thread from "AOS from student work and employment visa" forum

abdoulen, would you answer some questions for us?

Is your wife the US citizen?

Did you or your wife come to the US on a K-1 visa?

Did you or your wife apply for a green card? If yes, who is the green card for? If yes, is this why she sent the form and money to Nevada?

Have you received anything in the mail from the immigration office?

Have your or your wife had your fingerprints taken at an immigration office?

What I think you are saying is that your wife is the US citizen and you are the immigrant husband. You arrived in the US on a K-1 visa and now you are applying for a green card. It has been 9 months now and you haven't heard anything about your green card. She is calling the immigration phone number and either getting the voice machine, or when she talks to someone, they are telling her they require more forms. Is that correct?

If you can answer these questions for us, it will help us give you better answers. :)
