Grats on your progress! It's definitely a nice change in NVC compared to USCIS. You have something to do practically every day compared to months of doing nothing.

Yeah, it's a big change. I'm just trying to stay ahead of everything. I haven't even been invoiced for the VI Fee yet, I just went online, saw that it was an available option to pay, and there you go. For the DS-230 packet you need police records and what not, my wife is already getting the necessary documents and is shipping them out on Saturday (Police records take 3 days to process in Nicaragua). So hopefully I'll have my barcode for the packet tomorrow or Friday, the documents by tuesday, and I'll ship the bloody thing out the same day, NVC will receive next day. Hopefully my AOS packet will be processed in the next day or two. They'll boot it out a week or so later down to the embassy...onward to the interview. Sounds like a plan to me!

It's also possible that you've been transferred back to CSC (part of this "rapid response plan"). That's what happened to me. Good luck!

You're absolutely right. I called USCIS, and the exceedingly helpful lady on the other end of the phone explained she couldn't access our details as I am the beneficiary. My wife called and was transferred to "tier 2" (manager) who confirmed our case has been transferred back to California. Which means the whole time at Texas was an utter waste of time and will no doubt result in unnecessary delays.

I am now beginning to wonder if we will be together for our first anniversary on July 22nd!

I feel the same way! Our first anniversary is on June 29th, and we were hoping to have a big celebration/reception type thing in August (because we had a very private City Hall wedding and would like to celebrate with friends and family when we are settled). I do think that this transfer back to CSC should be a positive thing for us though. It's really irritating that three months were wasted at CSC, followed by another wasted three months at TSC during which they did NOTHING on our case, but I am going to hold on to hope (and USCIS' word, whatever that's worth) that CSC is going to prioritize our cases and adjudicate them immediately. Also, cases get from CSC to NVC really quickly, so that is something to hopefully look forward to as well.

Congrats!  Kikapoo said FLY through NVC and you can! Stay on top of the paperwork and have everything ready to go. Today my wife got an email from NVC stating that her Choice of Agent had been accepted (we emailed it in) and I checked to see if I could pay the IV fee and bam! there it was. So I immediately paid that and I wouldn't be surprised if I had my second barcode by tomorrow. So I've been at the NVC for 8 Business days and I'm already getting ready to send my DS-230 packet. Hopefully NVC keeps up this pace for myself and everyone else that is there now and getting ready to get there. Don't know about you, but I kinda like moving on to new steps every couple of days instead of every couple of months!

Another quick update. I got my barcode for the DS-230 packet yesterday online, but emailed early afternoon today. So at this point I'm just waiting for my wife to FedEx me some documents and the final NVC packet will be express shipped the same day I get those docs. Still don't know if my AOS has been processed, the recording says nothing about that, but it did change yesterday or the day before about the Choice of Agent being added. Might call on Monday to check status of AOS. And speaking of calls, I've called NVC 3 or 4 times and they have the most helpful freakin' agents. They have all be super pleasant and extra helpful. Just wanted to throw that out there!

I received the email from USCIS stating they shipped my case to NVC on January 21, 2011 stating they had shipped it that same day. I called NVC exactly a week later on January 28, 2011 and a very nice woman told me that they had received it that very day but that it was not in the system yet. That was on a Friday, so she told me to call back on Monday. I called back on Monday, January 31 and they had my NVC number issued but not the invoice number which was issued the next day on February 1st. So from shipment to Invoice was 11 days. If you have anymore questions let me know.
