The malapportionment of the US Senate is well-known, if under-discussed. But a bunch of America's lowest population states are also the states with the lowest unemployment rates. So the eight largest states have 47.34% of the population, but 52% of umemployed people. By contrast, the bottom twenty states in terms of number of unemployed people—almost enough to mount a filibuster—contain just seven percent of America's unemployed:

At any rate, you can't change the Senate. But it's always worth keeping in mind that when you hear people drone on about tradition and whatnot that you're talking about the product of a 220 year-old hard-knuckled political compromise that has some perverse impacts in the present day.

Replace the aging work force as they reach retirement age. There's nothing sinister about it. Europe is facing this very same problem, but much more drastically. If the Nativist's like peejay are concerned about the browning of America, he should start having more babies.
