Here is my detailed interview review at the Embassy in Tokyo on June 28, 2010

I got there 8am (my appointment was 9:30am) there were about 20 people in line at the gate...

when I get the door a Japanese lady checking names on the list...but I WAS NOT THERE...she wrote my name on the paper and gave me the checklist and got the security check...

Entered the room there were about 50 or more people waiting for immigration visas. (the Notice says from June 24 to September 1 is the high season for visa)

I got the number from the machine and waited. After 30min later they called my number. I went to the counter #6 and a Japanese lady checked my documents (just gave her 2 passport photos and a Passport and medical results) then she said take a seat...

After 10min later they called my name and I went to the counter #1. A Japanese lady explained to me why I was not on the list*. then she said take a seat.

*They have moved up my interview from June 28 to June 21 when I requested it to the embassy by email...BUT the email I got from them says June 28 so they made mistake...but it was no problem having an interview today that the lady said...

About 10min later called my number again then I went to the counter #3. An American lady took my fingerprints for both hands then she said take a seat...

After 30min later called my number again then I went to the counter #10. The Officer was an American guy...very friendly...He asked me to sign the DS-230II then started asking questions...

-What language do you use to communicate with your husband?

then he start questioning in English...

-When did you meet your husband?

-How did you meet him?

-When did you meet him in person?

-Where did you meet him?

-How often do you see each other since the relationship began?

-Did he meet your parents?

-Did you meet his parents?

-Why not?

-When did you get married?

-Where did you get married?

-Did you have a ceremony?

-Has he been married before?

-Have you been married before?

-Does he have any children?

-Do you have any children?

-Have you lived together before?

-How long was the longest stay in the US since you met him?

-When was it?

-When you stayed in the US 3 month, Did you stay with him?

-Have you ever lived abroad?

-Before you met him, How long was the longest stay in the US?

-What part of Hawaii does he live?

-Is there a house or an apartment?

-How many rooms are there?

-Does he owns there or rent?

-How much does he pay for rent?

-What does he do for a living?

-Do you work now?

-Why not?

then he said "Congratulations! Your visa is approved. You will receive your visa in about 1 week." IN JAPANESE...so I asked him "please can you say it in English again?" (because I wanted hear it in English so bad :P ) then He said "Congratulations! Your visa is approved" with a big smile on his face...

at 10am I left the Embassy...

He asked me many questions than I expected but it was very easy...

and he did not ask for any evidence at all.

Thank you so much every one!!!! We really appreciate your help.

and good luck every one!!! :star:

Congratulations!

thank you and good luck on your interview!!! :star:

congrats!!!

i cannot believe they moved the interview but you had to wait 1 extra week!!? :o :o

at least you were okay!!!

Thanks... :star:

yes I can't believe they made mistake like that...I could meet your hubby if I had an interview on that day...

that's a lot of people today too! busier than last week!

the paper at the Embassy says it is a high season for visa right now...

you also got many more questions than my man did. but at least it was easy!! :star:

and they did not ask for 2009 tax forms or anything either! yeah!

I think he asked me many questions especially about visited the US because I visited the US 32 times on Visa Waiver Program (VWP) (including visited my husband 15 times) I attached the list on DS-230 (#35 List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States.) so I think he was looking at the list when he asked me those questions...

how about some other people there? did they have to show evidence??? i think if you dress nice they will be nicer to you!

I didn't see the other people had to show the evidence either...each interview took about only 10 minutes... but dress nice at the interview is a good point I think...thank you :)

and american guy interviewer is BEST!! was he cute??? i saw a cute guy there once!!

only two guys were there today and I don't think they are cute B-) but both of them seem nice and friendly ;)

and i like how you made him say it in english and japanese!! :D

yes I really wanted to hear it in English so I am happy I made him to do that :P
