Congratulations!

Next, you get on with building your new life and moving forward as a Permanent Resident of the US :). Five years (minus 90 days) from the date of your first green card approval you can apply for US citizenship.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Nope....(s)He's eligible for citizenship according to the 3-year rule. So (s)He's eligible 2 years and 9 months from the date of becoming a Permanent resident :)

Can you show me where this rule is? I was under the impression that the 3 year rule is only when the resident is STILL married to the USC and has been married for 3 years and a resident for 3 years.

Here: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/n-400instr.pdf page 1 outlines the rules and I see nothing saying VAWA gets special consideration re naturalisation.

Congratulations Vetra!

That is great :) Now you get to move on with your life. Good Luck with the journey ahead. Please do share the details of your case so that it is helpful to everyone. By details you do not need to re-live the bad experience. I am referring to the whole application process and what you submitted along with your timeline. This is amazing coz I think you are probably the fasted VAWA approval. Way to go girl!!
