Colleens, if I were you I would ask EI to take that into consideration ... ask them for an antedate. It's really not your fault at all that the card took forever to get to you; hopefully they understand!

Hey everyone! I've been MIA lately due to being busy with work but I'm happy to report that today we had our interview and we were APPROVED! It only took about 15 minutes and it turns out we didn't even need a co-sponsor! The IO only asked us 2 questions: how and when we met. I'm so happy to have all the immigration ####### behind us for a while ... I can't wait to get the green card in my hands! Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews/waiting for CSC :)

I will call them on Monday and see what if they can do anything. My maternity benefits start tomorrow, so hopefully at least they may be able to waive the 2 week waiting period. I am just looking forward to having some money being deposited into my account for a change.....and buying some more baby stuff :)

We had the AOS interview on Tuesday. It went very fast. The interview lasted 5 to 10 minutes.

The person had all the paperwork we had sent from the beginning in a folder. We showed our passports and my EAD. She asked me my name, address, birth date, my current activity. Then she asked how we met, and how was the wedding. Matt explained that this process makes it non-romantic, we got married in June but we want to do a ceremony in June 2011 in Kentucky / Ohio with his family, and another in June 2012 in France. She was very understanding. She then said I should receive the green card in 3 to 4 weeks. And voilà, I had prepared evidence in addition, copies of all that has been sent since the beginning, but it was not asked.

Good luck to all who are waiting.

I received an approval letter from the local USCIS Field Office, yesterday. Dated 10-12-2010 - the day of my interviews. It said my AOS has been approved and in card production. In the letter it shows:

Class: IR6 - is this the 10 year GC?

Congrats!

If you've been married for two years at the time of your interview you would get a 10 year green card. Ours is an IR6 and it's 10 years.

I looked up IR6 as well and I found out that IR6 = class of admission for (Immediate Relative), so spouse in this case, of a USC through AOS. It is an unconditional 10 year green card that does not require a renewal at the 2 year mark. The "CR6" category Green Card requires the 2 year removal of conditions.

Here is the class of admissions list:

IR1 Spouses, new arrivals

CR1 Spouses, new arrivals, conditional

IB1 Spouses, new arrivals, self petitioning

IW1 Spouses, new arrivals, widowers

IR6 Spouses, adjustments

CR6 Spouses, adjustments, conditional

CF1 Spouses, adjustments, entered as fiancé(e), conditional

IB6 Spouses, adjustments, self petitioning

IF1 Spouses, adjustments, entered as fiancé(e)

IW6 Spouses, adjustments, widowers

IR2 Children, new arrivals

CR2 Children, new arrivals, conditional

IB2 Children, new arrivals, self petitioning

IB3 Children of IB1, new arrivals

IW2 Children of IW1 or IW6, new arrivals

IR7 Children, adjustments

CR7 Children, adjustments, conditional

IB7 Children, adjustments, self petitioning

IB8 Children, adjustments, child of IB6 or IB7

CF2 Children (step) of CF1, adjustments

IF2 Children of IF1, adjustments

IW7 Children of IW1 or IW6, adjustments

AR6 Children, adjustments, Amerasian

IR3 Orphans adopted abroad, new arrivals

IR8 Orphans adopted abroad, adjustments

IR4 Orphans to be adopted, new arrivals

IR9 Orphans to be adopted, adjustments

IR5 Parents of adult U.S. citizens, new arrivals

IR0 Parents of adult U.S. citizens, adjustments
