I FINALLY had my biometrics appt today. It was pretty quick and easy...it only took about 15 minutes. A shame that we had to drive 3hrs each way for a 15 min appt, but happy it is done. The congressmans office already confirmed that my EAD had been approved about a month ago and was just awaiting my biometrics, so hopefully that should be on its way soon!!!

I was checking the current processing times on the uscis site and they say that Fairfax (where we had our interview in August) are currently approving I485's submitted in Jan 2010, does this mean we will have to wait 5 months or so for our decision or GC while they catch up to the June filers?

I had no idea Fairfax is so busy but lets hope that is not the case. Have you contacted your Congressman's immigration services and asked them to get some answers for you?

Hey All,

I had my GC appointment today at 1pm. My husband and i got there at around 12:45pm. Believe it or not, we were called in at a couple of minutes to 1! The IO requested us to leave our cell phone outside the room on a basket. She said before we sat dowb she needed us to be sweared under oath and she told us to lift our right arms. After that she told us to sit. Then she asked for our ID'S, and for me (beneficiary) she also asked for my passport. She then asked us our address and my husband told it to him. She then started me the normal questions about ever being a terrorist/a prostitute.....and ofcourse the answer to all that was a no. She then asked me my date of birth and my parents first names and where they live. She then asked me my cell phone number and did the same to my husband. Asked us when we met/where/when we started dating/when we got engaged/when was the wedding/where was the wedding. The asked for our address/asked where i work/how long i have been working there. She then asked my husband if he still works at the same job. She then told us to stand up and read a piece of paper at her desk and sign it. The paper said, '.......Permanent Resident!!!!!.....something about removal of conditions 90 days before the 2 years are over. I was so excited! She then concluded by telling me to watch my mail for the green card!

Overall it was a very good experience. All the questions took about 5-10 minutes!!!! We thanked her and out we went!

Am so happy we dont have to deal with immigration for another 2 years or so!

Than you everyone here on VJ for all your advice and stories about your ingterviews. We were really lucky our IO was very professional and never asked us unnecessary questions.

p.s Another thing, she asked us for any documents we wanted her to see and we gave her our evidence which included utility bills, bank statements, lease copy, and life insurance beneficiary forms. She never asked to see any pictures even though we had 3 albums full of pictures! We did not have any car/health insurance together as we both prefer to have our own. The IO told us she could see we looked like a happy couple. By the way we went to the St Louis office. That's my story! Thanks again everyone. Now just hoping that GC comes quickly :)

We got our second email notification that our card/document production was ordered today for the GC. With the EAD we got three of these email notices before the card arrived. I wonder if it will be the same.

hmmm...probably :)

Seems like a double or triple check system where the file goes before a couple of folks before it actually goes to print.
