NVC Checklist / Police certificate

Hello VJers.

I am trying to figure out something for the NVC stage. Once I get my NOA2 approved and I send in my DS3032 via email and pay the bills (AOS and IV) is there a checklist that is created by NVC and sent to the beneficiary? Or is the checklist created only if you are hit with an RFE.

The reason i am asking is, in India (ahmedabad especially) the passport office will not give you a PCC without seeing a checklist from NVC. And I am trying to figure out what to do in this case. I have asked my wife to have everything ready and she is just getting hold up because of this the PCC from passport office.

Is there a way to get the checklist quickly and not wait for us to get hit with a RFE. I dont want to delay the process if at all possible.

Anyone have the same issue and found a solution for it?

When you are sending in yer DS-230 packet, since yer gonna be 'shy' of the 2nd PCC document -

write a letter, attach to DS-230 submittal -

that covers WHY you can't get the 2nd one, and then state the 2nd one will be submitted on interview day.

You'll receive a checklist about this, and then you take the checklist IN to get that 2nd PCC. This 'checklist' is sorta kinda functionally equivalent to a RFE, but if you include that letter, NVC will not only send you the checklist, but will NOT delay yer case processing (much).

Thanks Darnell. That really helps. I will write a small letter with the submittal when i get my approval. Still have a little while to go.

ask some indian members of the forum. india is a little different than other people.

i am sure by checklist they mean either the NOA2 or the IV bill etc.

Tokyo.lovers - sachinky gave an interview at a different consulate (chennai) and my spouse will be giving it at Mumbai. The Passport office in the state of Gujarat is really hard to work with. They dont look at your request without your checklist or an appointment letter.

My wife's from Ahmedabad. We got two different checklist letters, the first one telling us that NVC is waiting for our DS230, and a 2nd one for the passport office PCC.

My wife was able to get the PCC using the first checklist letter, even though it wasn't for the PCC!

Are you sure that sachinky attended interview at Chennai?

You are right. It was mumbai. But the problem is not with the consulate. It is with the Ahmedabad Passport Office. They will not give you the PCC without the checklist or the appointment letter. Sorry for the confusion.

I am from Baroda, and will get PCC from ahmedabad, according to one of my friend who has recently got his pcc from ahmedabad office, he said that they won't issue pcc without cheaklist letter. ... I am in the same boat as you are ...... and will contact NVC about getting that chealist letter once they have my case.

would they complete our case if we attach the letter about how we cannot get the passport clearance certificate without an interview letter ? and just get at the time of interview ? Because we can get the passport certificate after showing the interview letter.

Okay so you sure we can get the PCC after we can show the checklist ? Then there would be no problem at all. We can send in both the PCCs.
