Petitioning Parents with sister who is under the age of 21

Hi!

I will be petitioning my parents, brother & sister this year. And if all things goes well, my parents will be here next year. My question is, if or when my parents pattition gets approved and they get to come here, will they be able to bring my sister since she will still be under 21 and is still considered a "child". Because I've heard situations where siblings petition their other siblings and they get to bring their children who are under 21 with them because they're automatically included in the petition. And I'm hoping that it's the same with parents with underaged children/child and in this situation also a sibling of mine. Thanks!

unfortunatly that doesn't go with parents and siblings. siblings aren't derivatives, meaning you have to petition them separatly from each parent. they cannot come with them, and depending from which country they are from, it can take from more than 10 to more than 20 years.

what you mentioned is married siblings. if you petitioned married siblings and they have children under 21 at the time of the interview, they will all come together, because spouses and children are derivatives of you brother's or sister's petition.

parents and children are two separate petitions.

they will have to take that into consideration. they will have to leave them behind.

what they can do, is if they are single, once they come here and have their GC, they can file for them. It still will take many years.

no. residents cannot petition married children. only USC can. so they firt have to become residents, then wait 5 years to become citizens. then they can file for married children. it will take more than 8 years from that date, depending from what country they are from.

probably by then their grandchild would be over 21 and would not able to come with parents.

Residents can only petition spouses and unmarried children.

Thank you. My parents are in the Philippines and my sister is 18. She's still in college and we were just hoping that she can come with my parents since they're supporting her. With Filipino families, it's hard to leave a child especially if they're still in school thought technically my sister is not a child anymore.
