Hi guys.. I entered US on a k1 visa, got married and applied for AOS just before departing for my honeymoon. In the whole rush, I misprinted my Alien Number (the one assigned to me on approval of I-129f)... Now I am really concerned about the fate of my application. Although I have emailed USCIS in this regard, I haven't gotten any reply from them.

Can Anybody here guide me, how to rectify this error ?

Another problem is even on the I- 693 supplement (vaccination record), I got it misprinted by the Doctor...All Along I memorised the wrong alien number and didnt realise I should atleast double check it with the I-797 notice...

However, the misprinted number differs only by one digitfrom the right one.

Hi Aaroon, That's me Vanessa is talking about. My situation is a little different to yours but this still should be of some help to you.

I received my NOA for AOS, EAD and AP and on one of the NOA's my A number was totally wrong (thank goodness I checked). I called USCIS on the 1800 number listed on the NOA (04/26/2010) and told them of the error. A few days later (04/28/2010) I received an email from USCIS saying that they had amended the incorrect A number.

When I went to do my biometrics last Wednesday I noticed that my A number was still incorrect when the lady pulled up my file on the computer. After we spoke with the supervisor about the issue he told the lady doing my biometrics that she could just overwrite the incorrect A number.

Even though USCIS say they have corrected the error I'm still keeping a close eye on it because I wouldn't be surprised if the issue comes up again....fingers crossed it won't though.

So what I recommend you to do is call USCIS on the 1800 number and explain what has happened. Good luck! :)

From What u told me, it seems like its not that big of a issue that can't be resolved..cuz I on the other hand had been thinking that my application might get rejected... But anyways Venessa ur response gave me a big relief... Thanx a lot

I will post updated information about my case as soon as I get any , cuz for now I am desperately waiting for my NOA-1...

And BTW , Can anybody please tell me if the receipt number on new NOA-1 is similar to the one that we had when we applied for Fiance(e) visa{ I-129f} or is it a different number this time ???????? ... The WAC------- number

I tried calling National Customer Care number (the 1-800- number), but they said they cant help me until I get the the receipt number from NOA-1

Also thanx a lot to GIGGLES

The number is different so you'll have to wait. If you sent the AOS, EAD and AP you will get THREE different case numbers. Don't panic if you can't see the cases online immediately as sometimes the system is slow to update. Mine took a couple of days but I know other people took around a week.

Best of luck!

well, I got my I-797C receipt of notices for filed I-485 & I-765 and unfortunately the alien number on both the notices happened to be incorect. Although I immediately called National Service Center and apprised them of the error, he has given me a 45 days timelimit for correcting this error. Lets see wat happens..

I really hope it doesnt delay the processing of my application....

Hey giggles... I need ur help with the wrong alien number issue of mine,( since u had the same issue too).. The receipt notices that I received had wrong alien numbers on it (as expected)...

Although I apprised USCIS of the matter, they havent fixed it yet(unlike ur case where they fixed it in 2 days)...

Now my question is, " does the Biometric appointment letter have Alien numbers printed on it or not "?

USCIS guys advised me to get my Biometric rescheduled just in case it bears wrong alien number

Would that be a good idea or should I just ask supervisor to overwrite it and save the hassle of rescheduling ????

Should I take this Biometric notice with wrong alien number to the ASC or should I get my appointment rescheduled ?

I am really afraid of the rescheduling thing cuz u never know how much the process will get delayed...

any honest advices here ?????

Giggles A number was wrong on the biometrics letter too. He took the letter he received that said it had been fixed, as well as his passport and NOA2 that had the CORRECT A number on it and asked that they fix it. They might NOT do it this way. They had to speak to a supervisor etc but that's how he did it... and that's what he WROTE in his reply to this thread here:

Triplicate threads on the exact same issue have been merged into one thread. It is not useful to start more than one thread on the same topic.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
