Worried about NVC process

I think it'll show up within the next few days.

Just for 'fun', though - might as well call NVC tonight, ask about status for 'OPTIN ACCEPTANCE', mentioning 'Electronic Processing' in a sentence. Do NOT mention unsigned DS-3032. Use 'OPTIN ACCEPTANCE', instead. USUALLY, the first human you get, will not know squat about NVC EP, so you might have to ask for a supervisor, as well.

Remember, these are not NVC employees, these are SERCO contractors, and they rotate in/out at NVC often, without , IMO, enough training. Don't get too mad at them, just be firm on what yer asking about, even if you have to repeat yerself after the 1st answer.

I did call NVC and was told that OPTIN Acceptance is comming soon.

You mentioned P3 of GuangZhou's 230. I could only find a 4-page long 230 form through the link on GuangZhou Consulate. Did I miss something?

Also I created another topic on IV fee and hope I can get some advice from you and others. here is the link

Thanks and Cheers!

names, dear man ;)

GUZ IV I-130 Supplemental Packet 3 - it's in the WIKI page, here at VJ -

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing#Digital_scans_of_supplemental_stuff

NVC uses it. Click the link (above this line), you'll see (or should see) a clickable download link for this form. It's ugly, it's stupid, there are no capture boxes, must be filled out by hand, then re-scanned, converted to PDF.

You include it with the DS-230 submittal (or you'll get dinged for it) It's to be filled out- in Chinese Characters.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Nudge Nudge - any updates ?

I sent files related to my wife's case to NVC on Monday and got an automatic response. Strange enough, I got an OPTIN acceptance email today for my wife's case with the GZO number I already know via DOS payment center. I also called NVC on Monday about my son's case and GZO number and was told to wait for anohter 10 days.

Hope I will get my son's GZO soon.

OK - re: wife's stuff - now that you've gotten the OPT IN acceptance -

you can either -

call NVC this evening, tell them to look for the incoming emails or

resend all.

NVC Tele-operators know little to nothing about the NVC Electronic Filing Process - so you might wind up training that operator a bit. You want to know if the emails that you sent are marked received and are 'tagged' to the casefile, yet.

NVC has been wonky about 'when' they throw you the GZO number, recently - so check that 'automatic reply' thingie - if it did not come from NVCElectronic@state.gov (ie - it did come from nvcinquiry@state.gov ) then is good sign they weren't prepped to receive the casefile stuff via email...

Hang in there !!!!

Contrariwise - you want interview dates together - so maybe hold off on the wife's casefile stuff until you get OPT IN acceptance on the son's casefile. (But that's just some educated guess - can also remind any NVC Tele-Operator to 'marry' the files together, getting a supervisor when needed )

So far I got two emails from NVC about my wife's case. The first one is from NVCInquiry last Friday which mentioned no GZO number. The seocnd one is from NVCElectronc for accepting OPTIN. The interesting thing is that I set "Read Response" option when I sent my wife's docs to NVC this monday. Today, the "Read Response" arrived about 1 second before the acceptance. My guess is that someone read my email with my wife's doc and send acceptance immediately.

Are you saying that email from NVCInquiry is good and the one from NVCElectronic is bad news?

no - just the opposite.

NVCELectronic is always 'good' -

NVCInquiry is mostly fluff, mostly a waste of time (except you'll get the ds-3032 kit from that email address)

FWIW, you may want to bug someone at NVC now - I smell two issues:

1. OPT IN for son not accepted

2. Marrying of casefiles for wife and son not so clear (based on no OPT IN acceptance email)

IMO, having a supervisor to REVIEW what's going, should be enough to PROD that supervisor into clicking a button or two, to get the 'review OPT IN status' tag over to actual NVC processing clerks.

I have the same feeling. On Tursday, I called NVC and expressed my concern about my son's case. I was told to wait for a couple days. Then on Thursday evening, I got an email from NVCInquiry infomred to send in document. However, just like my wife's case, no mention of OPTIN and no GZO number in the email. I called on Thursday evening again. I was told that my son's conversion to EP is on going and should have GZO in couple days and NVC will hold my wife's case if it completed before my son's case and send the two cases together to GuangZhou.

I did not have the guts to ask for Supervisor. I always have a feeling that the reason it took 6 weeks for me to get my NVC number is because I called too much right after I-130 is approved. I can wait for couple days. I will call on the next Tuesday or Wednesday if I don't hear anything from NVC. Personally, I think it waste everyone including taxpayer's money to have 4-years old with his own case.

Thanks for your concern and help. Enjoy your weekend.
