Advice for Waiting Game after NOA 2 is received

I am just trying to figure out what the time lines are for this Visa process and frankly they dont look good. I realize there is nothing I can do to change it so my question is this. I am living in the US and filed the I-130 from my home here. My wife is in the Philippines and continues to work at her job which she has had for the past 16 yrs. I received the NOA1 in a relatively short period of time after submitting the I-130. Now it looks like they are taking 4-6 months to Issue a NOA2. I can wait for that but after that do I need to stay in my home state to answer and respond to State Department questions or can I leave the US and go back to my wife's country and hang out there until she is approved to enter the US. When I was in PI I called the Embassy and they said I needed to file in the US and I could not get things rolling until I returned home. I dont work and dont have any reason to stay in the US during the Winter months as the grass doesn't grow and Its cold. Is it best that I stay at my home awaiting during the finally stages of this long journey? Is it possible for me now to deal with the remaining BS from out of the country. Myself I would rather be with my wife than sitting at my home alone for no good reason other that well you know...

THanks for any comments you may have.

^^ Agreed. By following the NVC guide you will see that forms can be downloaded and correspondence with NVC can be done via telephone or email. Nothing you cannot do while you are with your wife. :)

Good luck.

NVC Accepts POSTAL MAIL / Courier Delivery from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD.

If you aren't home when you receive the NOA-2, that's ok - don't forget you can sign up for electronic notification with USCIS.

Once you have some NOA-2 approval notice, usually the casefile will move to NVC during some 2 week 'slush' period.

If you are pro-active, and keep on top of things, you can call into NVC from the PI and 'jump-start' the NVC Processing.

LingChe is a great reference, be sure to study it from top to bottom - it's 'info-rich'. I've a shorter version over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/221785-ds-3032-slowdown/page__view__findpost__p__3560467 that is 'payment portal specific', but do STUDY LingChe's Shortcuts - it will help you a lot with the prep work.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hey Tom,

I was feeling the same way, but we got our NOA2 in 2 months after the NOA1 also from the California Service Center.

I got the email notification and a week later the NOA2 showed up in the mail. That same night I called the NVC and talked to a

very friendly woman that gave me our case number and answered all my questions. I was so shocked I forgot her name..

Now I feel a little caught off guard(my own fault) and we are scrambling to get everything together.

As long as you don't get any RFIs there is a very good chance it will go faster than you think.

Good luck
