PCC at Ahmedabad, India

I wanted to share our experience for getting PCC at Ahemedabad, India. Hopefully it will help the follow vjers.

For Ahmedabad, PCC is not available until you get the appointment letter (interview call) from NVC.

when my wife went first, time with the call letter, they declined to give her the PCC as they asked for the married name on her passport.

They said that you need to change your lastname to husband's lastname on the passport first as she said she was married in the PCC app form. Then she tried again, but this time she didnt say married in the PCC application form. This time they accepted her application and she got the PCC in 2 days.

What documents were your wife required to submit to get the PCC? How long does it take to get it issued? What kind of document does the passport office issue as clearance? Is it just a mere stamp in the passport or an actual document? Any information will be helpful. Thanks!

You only need to submit Appointment letter which shows that they need PCC, along with your passport and Rs. 300 fee. You get both, stamp on your passport and document. Embassy look at the document you have. It is good for 6 months. Sometime it takes more than a month to get PCC. One of my friend has to get it same day because his appointment was within next 2 days. He got it but paid around Rs.10000.00
