I am not sure but I think we already received our NOA1 ?!?

Is it the one page thing that we receive by mail ?

Here is why I got confused !

People's timeline said :

" xx/xx/10 NOA1 received"

" xx/xx/10 Hardcopy NOA1 received"

What is the diffence between those two things ?

Check was cashed, We received a notice of action with our number that start with WAC. Is that paper the hard copy ?!?

thx

Yes, exactly, that's it. Hard copy just means that it is not virtual or oral, but a real piece of paper.

So, congrats, you have it :-) And the WAC number is your case number with which you can check your status online, etc.

People seem to get it both by email and hardcopy, but I don't think John received an email; he just got the hard copy. I have to ask him, though.

Does anybody know how it works in detail? Does everybody get both email and hardcopy?

The first NOA1 date people cite is usually the date it was SENT by USCIS. If you look up your case on USCIS.gov it says when it was sent, and you can also see that date on the hard copy. Yes, the hard copy is the one sheet you got in the mail with your WAC number. People just like to keep track of when it was sent (which is actually the date CSC created/started on your case) and the day they received it in the mail.

I'm the USC petitioner.

I don't think you get any email notifications until you create a login account on USCIS.gov. I put my email address on the I-129F but they didn't email me. It was only when I saw in my online banking that the check was cashed that I went to USCIS and looked up our case number and created an account (and selected to get email and text alerts). So now any future updates will be sent to me via email/text and mail.

I'm the USC petitioner.

Sorry I seem so impatient everyone, I guess I just worry too much. :P I should give it more time before worrying too much. But I do hope my check will be cashed sometime next week. I know it can take a while to get anything sent back to you from USCIS, so I'm not worried about that. But if does seem like for most people, the check is cashed long before that.

People seem to get it both by email and hardcopy

Really? I didn't even know people can get an email. I wonder if I'll get one since I put my email address on the 1-129F form.

Add these dates in your signature block under your profile settings, that way you can be tracked by Igors list. Did you create a VJ timeline? The VJ timeline will estimate when you will recieve your NOA2. Based on the amount of reported approved petitions the dates will change. The more petitions that are approved the shorter the wait for your NOA2. I have been monitoring the Feb filer thread and some people got approval in 23 days!
