I will send my I-864 and tax return for year 2009 to NVC next few days. My question is beside signing on I-864, do I and my wife need to sign on the "copy of my 2009 tax return"? I filed jointly with my wife, having her signature again is not easy since she is living in vn. I should have saved a copy when I first sent to IRS, now I have to extract a copy from my computer.

maybe you should consider requesting and sending along tax transcript with the I-864...

Transcripts are preferred, probably because anyone can write up a tax return, sign it, and not file them.

I had transcripts for 2007 and 2008. for 2009 I only have tax return with supporting docs W-2 and 1099s. I file my return as married file jointly w/ my wife, having her signs signature take alot of time since she's living in vietnam. My AOS BILL is paid and the next step is submit the I-864 and tax transcipt or return.

Instead of waiting for her signature on tax return, I am going to submit my tax return 2009 to NVC first without her signature. then after I had received my tax return from her w/ sign on it, I will send that to IRS.

Anyway, Do I need to wait or just go ahead and submit return w/o signature?

I did my I-864, 2008 tax return with w2 (with employee letter), tax transcript for 2008, and 2007 with no problem.

Make a copy of your 2008 tax return for your wife interview. (Just in case)
