Off topic - since you work in traffic, maybe we can put it to use discussing Atlanta's traffic problems.

I leave that mess to ARC. I see people get up at dawn to get to work on time in Atlanta. I don't work in ATL but even the business community knows that the traffic congestation is killing future job growth and limiting the potential job talent pool.

It's the same deal here in DC, I think we are ranked second worse. In all fairness, who do you think is blocking raising taxes to fund a remedy? People don't seem to grasp the billions lost in productivity when stuck in traffic. Money that could be better spent elsewhere. The buyback of nationally important rail lines, along with their upgrade to being high-speed is a must. Furthermore, this could actually reverse the death of small town America, as it would allow people to live in such towns, yet commute to major cities. Like it or not, major cities is where jobs will be in 2010 and beyond.

For a country of 300 million to not have modern public transport, is ridiculous on any level. We need money by means of taxes to fix these issues. The rest of the developed world isn't as stupid as some make it out to be, hence the awards bellow.
