Hi everyone I have a couple of question About the I-864

I know that as the petitioner I must submit and I-864 and if they do not meet the required Income they must have a co-sponser. Ok so i have the co-sponser and they have filled out the fourm and gathered all the document needed (Check stubs, IRS Transcript, Proof of citizenship, letter of employment, W2's, Ect.) he will be sending it to me this comming wensday.

But what i need help with is If i also need to fill out a I-864 I dont know how to go about that Im 19 and i have no job i live with my parents.(cuz my hubby is in Jordon) So Am i going to provide Check stubs, IRS Transcript, Proof of citizenship, letter of employment, W2's, Ect If i dont have a job nor have i ever had one?

Im kidda going crazy right now trying to figure this out.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Very much

MuslimQueen.

Ya, you're the primary sponser, so you need an I-864, of some type.

Check out the other version, the I-864a - see if you qualify to use it.

Yer not just 'going' on the co-sponser's paperwork, YOU have to have file one as THE sponser, as well.

For most of the items on YOUR form - yer gonna write 'NONE', also suggest you write a letter of affadavit about your income.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Your household size is whoever is claimed as dependents on your tax returns. Basically, people you are financially responsible for. Old parents. Kids.

In my case, even though my husband is currently living at his parent's place to save up on rent, his household size is 2. Him and me. He files his own taxes.

Please read the form instructions. They explain a lot.

Also refer to the example form here on VJ.

If the true answer to a question is zero then put zero.

If you have never been required to file a tax return then write an affidavit to that effect.

Well i cant use the I-864 cuz the co-sponser dose not live with me.

I believe Darnell meant the I-864EZ - not the I-864A - there is no situation where the primary sponsor would fill out an I-864A.

No reason to be down about this - many people are students or unemployed for some other reason and they successfully file an I-864 with a joint sponsor. I would recommend that you read the instructions for the I-864, so that you fully understand them. This is a very important document in the U.S. immigration process and you need to see how it applies to you and your joint sponsor so that you can have the correct documentation available and so that you can guide the joint sponsor on what they need to provide you with.

As some others have mentioned, you need to attach a note to the I-864 explaining why you have not filed a tax return for the last three years:

From the I-864 instructions, page 8:

If you were not required to file a Federal income tax return under U.S. tax law because your income was too low, attach a written explanation.
