My fiance's at the Dublin airport, taking off in less than an hour. Even though he's flying Continental, his gate didn't allow for immigration in Dublin. Instead, he'll be POE'ing in Newark. Strange. I'm glad I didn't fill out the POE line on all my AOS forms yet.

Oh, I'm not nervous or excited at all.

Yeah, it all depends on where he is going to from Dublin. Flights to Orlando don't go through US Customs & Immigration but ones To Boston (Logan) do.

Hmm, I was all up for doing it until a friend mentioned, would that not look funny when you enter the country with the K1 visa...

I think if they ask you about it you can just tell them you bought a return because it was the cheaper option. They probably see that a lot. I hope so anyway because that's what we're doing!

Oh really? so all in ok on a return ticket with a K1 visa?

Yes, like I said. F2C-MaDMaXX, we're happy to answer your questions here, but pretty much everything you've asked has been answered in the Guides and in previously asked forum questions (search in upper right). If you look in these places before asking a question, 19 times out of 20 the answer will be there.

What do you guys know about using a return ticket instead of a one way? Is it a problem with customs?

I think if they ask you about it you can just tell them you bought a return because it was the cheaper option. They probably see that a lot. I hope so anyway because that's what we're doing!

You probably mean "immigration" not "customs". Customs checks out what you're bringing into the country. Immigration decides if you get in and past them to even see the customs guy. You will be entering on a K visa, so there will be no questions about tickets at all. That would come up when you are visiting on VWP and they want some proof you planned to go back home and when. This time, they know you're staying so have no reason to ask about your tickets or care. You're there, you're in. (Unless you did something like left your visa and passport in the toilet back on the plane.)
