I filed at thge end of October (28th). So I'm going to be updating here if its ok :)

So I sent I-130, I-145 etc on the 28th and it was received on the 29th in Chicago and signed for by L. Box

10/14/09 Check for I-485 cashed (Day 10)

I also just mailed off all my stuff - I-485; I-130; I-765 and I-131 today via Fedex. I was supposed to file it ages ago, but my husband had to undergo emergency eye surgery so all the money we'd saved for filing had to go on that.

We got married on April 13th of this year, and my F1 visa expired in May. My OPT expired in mid-July. Will it be a problem that I overstayed my visa and filed the forms so late?

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS

AUGUST 10 2004 - Arrived in Austin, TX with F-1 student visa status.

EARLY JAN/FEB 2008 - Met Michael (my future husband) in the café where he works.

APRIL 12 2008 - We go on our first date. It lasted 2 days!

APRIL 13 2009 - Got married in Marfa, TX, in the middle of the West Texan desert.

NOVEMBER 4 2009 - Finally saved up enough money to send off I-130; I-485; I-131; I-765.

NOVEMBER 5 2009 - Package arrived at the Chicago Lockbox at 9:32 a.m! Signed for by A. Analakis. [DAY 1]

NOVEMBER 12 2009 - Cheques for I-485 and I-130 are finally cashed! [DAY 8]

NOVEMBER 12 2009 - I-485, I-130, I-1765 & I-131 are all "touched"! [DAY 8]

NOVEMBER 13 2009 - Received NOA's for I-485, I-130, I-765 & I-131 (Notice date - November 10th 2009).[DAY 9]

Hey congrats on mailing it out and welcome to the November filers thread! Must be such a relief to have it mailed out huh!

Hope your husbands recovering well - what a nightmare that must have been.

I don't know too much about overstays but there seems to be a lot of successful cases on VJ of people adjusting from overstays. I think too in your case you can also show that it was circumstances beyond your control (your husband's emergency surgery) that caused the delay... That's got to help!

My package should get there tomorrow morning! Keep your fingers crossed that it will arrive in one piece.

Definately! We should totally follow each others timelines... Similar stories! Maddy & Spongebob mailed theirs the same day as me also...

You fed-exed yours too - same as ours! I tracked mine a lot lol! It went via Memphis, TN... I was so relieved when it got signed for today... I dragged my husband out for celebratory drinks tonight!

I received my first set of receipts today (NOA1's). It has been 10 days since I sent my applications to Chicago. Both of my checks were cashed on 11/3 which was 6 days after the applications were sent. Hopefully this will help with a time frame for all of you.

I think the worst part so far was the wait for the receipts because there was nothing you can do to check on the progress. At least now I have the receipt numers to put into the USCIS website for further updates.
