just out of curiosity, how did your not having a birth certificate work into you immigrating to the US and then obtaining citizenship?

Timeline:

Sent in I-130 form: 01/29/09

Interview Date: 11/08/09 (APPROVED!)

Visa in Hand: 11/12/09

POE: 01/30/10 (!!!!) at JFK Airport in NYC... can't wait!

Got the green card maybe 8 weeks after 01/30/10...

TBC....

You need two affidavit of birth one from your father and one from your mother.

Here is the sample: (Also see the attached file)

AFFIDAVIT OF BIRTH

[ON RUPEE NOTE PAPER IF RESIDE IN INDIA]

I [your father’s full name], being duly sworn, hereby affirm and state:

1. I reside at [your father’s complete address]

2. I was born in [your father’s birth city/town, state/province and country] on [your father’s birth date], and I am the father of [your full name].

3. I am married to [your mother’s complete name]. We have been married since [marriage date].

4. [your full name] was born on [your birth date], to me and my spouse, [your mother’s name]. [your full name] was born in [your birth city/town, state/province and country].

5. I was present when my spouse gave birth to [your full name] and I am giving this sworn statement because no birth certificate/record exists for my [daughter] following several unsuccessful attempts by my wife and myself at locating a document for our child

I believe you have to submit a copy of your birth cert, showing your parents name on it. My question is, when you got visa from US embassy Pakistan, you didn’t show them birth cert or they didn’t ask you?

But you can do following:

If you have school record or B form or Pakistani ID, you can apply your birth cert in Pakistan and they will issue you in new date and will mention late entry.

For your mother: Just Affidavit is not going to work alone, when your case will be at NVC:

You must submit civil authorities latter, mentioning that why birth cert is not available. 2nd: a relative old then her, if alive provide affidavit for ur mom.

Hey question?? Your mother was born in Pakistan or Indian???

Civil authorities letter, you can get, but you need to put some time and efforts.... If your mother born in Pakistan, you can do same steps as I mentioned above for you.

If your mother born in India, then you need to tell them, that you need a letter saying: Her birth cert is not available in this office, because she born in India. No such record available for her.

You need to provide 1st and secondary evidence... to prove.

why shuch docs are not available.
