Hello Everyone!

Does anyone can help me. Is there a way I could extend my K1 visa, it will expire on the 19th of May.

My fiance was not ready for marriage. He wanted me to extend. Is there a way?

thank you in advance

If you are in the USA, you must marry within the 90 or return, no way around that. You can apply for another K1 later, and other than a few more questions at interview, you should be able to get a second K1.

If you are still in your home country, you cannot extend the K1 but it may be re-issued. Normally this is only done for very good reasons such as a child in school who wants to finish off the school year, but you can always ask.

First, please fill in your timeline :)

Second, you can't extend the 90 days once you are in the US (it sounds like you are in the US, but I'm not sure). One of the reasons its 90 days (rather than a shorter period) is to give you time to live together and make sure marriage is still what you want (its hard to judge these things in a long distance relationship). Sometimes it takes being together in a more normal life setting to realize one does or does not want to marry.

If your fiance is not ready to marry, then you need to return before the 90 days, or you risk having problems with possible future travel or immigration to the US.

Hope things work out one way or the other.

I actually first read it that OP is still in Phil, but after reading various replies, I'm thinking maybe he/she is indeed in the States.

In the event you are still in the Phil, this is just me (I cannot give you advise as to what's best for your situation and life), but I'd definitely use that visa before it expires. This has been such a lengthy and expensive process for my fiancé and me (and it's far from over). I wouldn't want to consider letting my fiancé's visa expire only to start over. Again, that's just me; not legal nor professional advice.

If you're in the US, and your fiancé, after all this, just isn't "ready to marry," wow, that's a big concern and situation. I couldn't even begin to comment on that here, especially with so little information. Much more to that than mere immigration and legal issues. I also find myself asking, "Why is he putting all this (extending your visa) on you?" Every element of the K1 visa process is so complicated, confusing, and daunting, my strong opinion is that both partners need to be engaged in it and working through it together.

I hope everything works out for you, r_29!
