$240 isn't a whole lot, that is cheaper than the obamacare plans without a subsidy. To keep me on my mother's plan was like $800 extra a month. We signed the Dane up for one after our state swore up and down that the new laws made him Medicaid eligible, but later found out that they didn't. We still haven't gotten an insurance card or any paperwork and they phone line just disconnects when you call. I'm not that concerned because we are moving states in the next couple of months and will need to use Minnesota's healthcare network instead.

How's the job at Target going? I worked there for a while when I was 20.

Update on us - we are going on almost 9 months back in America now and all is pretty good. We are hopefully selling our house on Tuesday unless the buyers have more trouble with their mortgage. Then a couple of months later, hopefully we are off to Northern Minnesota! I officially start my Norwegian major on Monday because even if I can't get Danish, by darn it, I will speak Norwegian. Maybe then I'll be able to speak to my father in law. Good news is that it has actually gotten the Dane speaking Danish at home *gasp*.

Quick random question...does anyone know if you can bring a cell phone into the Embassy in Stockholm? I read that some of the embassies allow you to check in your phone upon entry and receive a ticket to pick it up on your way out...

Thanks!

Thanks!

Before entering the actual embassy you pass through a gatehouse with security and xrays, just like at the airport. They'll keep all your electronics and give you a ticket so you can pick them back up on your way home. So while the answer is "No, you can't bring it into the embassy", you don't have to leave it at home, they'll store it for you during your interview. :)

What kind of evidence did most of you guys use for the I-134 at the embassy in Sweden?

Right now we have bank letter and statement, bank letter stating deposits and present balance and letter from employer stating salary and employment terms. Will this be sufficient?

The I-134 instructions state that the tax return is for self-employed only. However, people seem to use these as well for other embassies.

We did the last three years of tax transcripts, several months of pay stubs, and letter from employer.

I didn't want to chance any problems with a delay.

Had my medical today, was in and out in less than 20 minutes (beside the 2 hour wait before the doctor saw me).

I do not know when my interview is, yet. The embassy received the case a couple of weeks ago, yesterday my fiancée received the letter and I filled the DS-160 out last week. So hopefully it will happen soon. On the other hand, we are in no rush. Will probably leave towards the end of march anyway, but I do want to get my approval soon so I can feel calmer about everything :)

Sat down and read through my emails and found that they sent the information today. Interesting you have to schedule and pay the fee online, on your own, starting Jan 18.

http://sweden.usembassy.gov/pr_01082014.html

So I suppose I have to way another 4 days before I know for sure when this process will be over for my part.

For anyone else who had the same though as me, regarding the I-134 and evidence. This is the official info from the embassy:

"EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Evidence, which will show that you

and your children, if any, are not to become public charges in the

United States. If you have no assets, you may find a financial sponsor

in the U.S. who completes form I-134, Affidavit of Support on your

behalf. The sponsor should also provide a copy of the most recent U.S.

Federal income tax return (1040) and proof of current U.S. income or

assets. Form I-134 can be obtained from Citizenship and Immigration

Services' webpage www.uscis.gov<http://www.uscis.gov> "

Hi,

I just had my interview at the US embassy in Stockholm, and posted a review about it. It was all very smooth, easy going and professional.

I would just like to post here an advice for all Swedes. I paid the Visa interview fee at the local post office, through Kassagirot. This proved not to be qualified as a proof of payment. I know that in the instructions it said to pay at a bank, but I was naive enough to think that it would be the same thing to pay through Kassagirot, since I had asked the post office beforehand and they told me they would scan my drivers license which would put my name and address on it. Now I have no idea what to do, because as far as I know, Kassagirot is not affiliated with any bank, and I have to have the proof of payment "signed and stamped by a bank official". Potentially I have to pay the fee again, which would be an annoyance. I have not googled anything yet so I'm just throwing this out here. Anyone has any advice?

Also, I strongly suggest you don't use Sibyllekliniken as a place to do the medical exam. I did my medical on December 5, and wanted to be sure that it had been sent to the embassy - so therefore I have tried to get hold of them for the past few weeks. They never returned my calls or emails, until yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon, only to tell me it had not been sent. So, because they hadn't sent the results of my medical exam, and I didn't have the correct proof of payment, plus another document that didn't sufficiently enough according to their standards meet the demands of my fiancées previous two divorces, I was not granted a Visa on the spot. But, the divorce papers was an error on our part, and the proof of payment could have been done a different way, according to their supplied instructions, also a naive error on my part. Sibyllekliniken was extremely unprofessional though, so if we had met the other requirements we would have still not been granted a Visa on the spot, since they failed to submit the result of the medical exam. Do not use Sibyllekliniken.

Our case will be reviewed within 2 weeks after we've supplied the documents and the medical results has been recieved.

I didn't even know you could do your medical without an interview date?! But as far as not recommending doing at Sibyllekliniken, that's the only place people in that are can go, i'm afraid.

May i ask you, why was the dicorce papers an error?

I payed today at Nordea, only they and i forgot the stamp, and i see they need a signature too, so i will have to go back for that. Hope they can do it .

I also tried taking the passport pictures myself, but it didn't work out very well, thought i'd say a few hundreds, haha.

Good luck on your case though, hope you get an approval soon ;)
