You guys are great.

Tom, it looks like in that year and a half, Gap will have to take some courses relating to Constitutional Law and other areas that are a little different from Thailand's system. I hope he'll get used to the exam format. Or maybe he'll find something else that holds his interest. Working with Dad, I don't know. Dad lives in a different city than we do. See? The possibility is there, it's just not nailed down yet.

Rob, Yes, Gap is from Nakhon Pathom. He used to live pretty close to the Ong Phra, but he's since moved out of the downtown area. I like Nakhon Pathom just for the reason you don't. It's simple to just be there. It's the same reason I enjoyed visiting Ubon. Nakhon Pathom, though, I could see living there. Ubon... not quite so much.

Will you be going back for Audy's interview?

Thanks for the information about transferring money via the banks. After trying for 4 months to get Gap's name added to my account so he could just use my card at the machines, I decided to just forget about the banks entirely. At first, they told me adding him to the account wouldn't be a problem. My bank has a business office in Bangkok. They said just have him go and fill out a signature card and have his identity verified and it would be fine. He got there and the woman told him it was impossible to make a signature card for him. That alone took a month. The two offices went back and forth for a while until Gap said he would just wait. We've used Western Union to send funds. I don't want to do that for the amount he'd be bringing over, though. It's only around 5,000 USD, but I can only imagine the fees. The limit on taking currency out of Thailand only applies to farang, right?

This is a combination of a few posts I had made on another Thread. I was told this thread might lead to more help. So anyone please feel free to chime in if you want Thnx........

This is mostly for any of you guys who have your Thailand K1 approved. Are there any of you who have only visited your fiancee in Thailand one time and got your K1 approved? Im doing a K1 and we are just weeks away from finishing. However I am using a visa company and they are saying they would prefer if I returned to Thailand one more time before my fiancee's interview. I know it would look good to the embassy to see I have had multiple trips to Thailand but we really are not planning on doing this and saving the money for our wedding and for her AOS. Oh and yes we talk Thai a little bit(nit noi) in our emails, lol. We have all the usual evidence of our relationship...stack of emails, stack of text messages, stack of western unions, stack of pics of us together in Bkk and surrounding cities, boarding passes, luggage claim tickets, reciepts from stores when I was there, skype call loggs, skype chat loggs, cell phone call logs, reciepts for her wedding ring I bought, reciept for the wedding I have paid for already and of course all the required documents AOS, tax forms, employer letter, my letter of our relationship and lots of other things. She has done her medical and police check and she is just waiting on an interview date. Let me know what you think, thnx for your help

Hello to all my VJ Thai Family,

I know I haven't been on here in a while so I thought I would give you all a quick update.

My wife now has her 10 year green card. Total time from initial application to 10 year green card was 44 months. Overall...we had no hiccups along the way...it was a pretty smooth process! So, CONGRATS to my wife! She is eligible and wants to file for citizenship. I suppose that we'll do that in a few months or so....

New News! Most of you might not have known that I filed a I-130 for my wife's daughter, who is turning 15 tomorrow. Originally, we planned to do a K2 for her...but she wanted to stay in Thailand for a while and learn more English before moving to the USA. So, we couldn't file the K2. Well, I filed the I-130 about a year ago for her...she was approved in BKK about 2 months ago, and has been in the USA for one month now! My wife and I are THRILLED to have her here with us and be reunited as a family in the USofA! She's been here for about one month now and already has her social security number and her 10 year greencard.

So...life is VERY GREAT for us! Looking back, it was almost 4 years of total USCIS processing to get both my wife and her daughter here and for both of them to have their 10 year greencard. Every moment of it was a blessing (I can say that now <hahaha>!)

Peace to the thread and blessings to you all for each step of your journey! It can turn out beautifully...we are proof of that!

In the other thread he said one trip so far.

No way to say for sure if another trip is necessary or not (probably not) but it may help since there has only been one previous trip. Also, I can see how being in BKK during the interview will help your case as well. When I was in BKK for my wife's interview, she brought my passport in with her which was noticed by the clerk & interviewer.

Just thought I'd share: Interview assigned for June 8th at 7 AM. Yay!

Oh, congratulations. Foreign language is against the Terms of Service or I would write "Chok dee." Since it is against TOS I will not write "Chok dee!!!"

I am sorry, I did not see your other post until now. Yes, I am planning to go back for Audy's interview. But we are delaying the interview even though we were approved March 26 and have had Packet 3 for some time. Audy needs to finish up at her job which will be about November. So we are trying to set the interview for August.

You and husband will not need Luck. I am sure you are well prepared and organized.

Take care

Rob

Applicants residing outside Malaysia should contact the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate in their country of current residence. The application form for the Malaysian Certificate of Good Conduct, as well as the addresses and telephone numbers of Malaysian Missions abroad are available the the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs web site at www.klm.gov.my.

* 2 Malaysian passport size photographs (40cm x 55cm);

* 2 copies of the applicant's Malaysian identification card;

* 2 copies of the applicant's passport (for non-Malaysians, copies of all passport pages);

* A self-addressed stamped envelope;

* An introduction letter from the employer (for non-Malaysians).
