Hi, my fiancé has his medical in Vancouver tomorrow, and I have a question. I have been searching the forum for the answer, but can't seem to find a consistent one.

He has:

-Immunization records

-Passport photos

-Passport

I've read that he needs an appointment letter? Is this required? What is this? I'm beginning to get confused with all of the paperwork I have been doing...

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

No, it is not required for the medical, because when he booked the medical, he would have told Laura (or another receptionist) when his interview was. Anyway, the medical staff don't require to see his appointment letter. Get there EARLY. There is a queue at 6.30 AM!

The appointment letter is required for his Vancouver consulate interview. That allows him entry to the building.

Well his interview hasn't been scheduled yet... He is planning on being there at 6:30... is that early enough??

But he's received packet 3, right?

If yes, then no worries, his interview will likely be within a month or two from now.

I say get there even earlier! 6 AM. I got there at 6.40 and waited till 7.15 in line.

Yes, he recieved his packet 3. He faxed in his DS-230, but it didn't go through and the consulate called him... he then re-faxed it later, and so that is why we are still waiting on his interview... The lady that called him said they were scheduling for August 27th interviews at the time, so we are hoping for August 29th or September 5th *crosses fingers*

Hey, you guys have gotten this far. What's a few more days, eh? Those last few weeks I missed Vancouver dreadfully, and I was still there!

So back to your q, I would say get there at 6 AM. He won't be done till around 10.30. Then he'll return around 2 to pick up his results. In the morning he'll be spending roughly three hours waiting around so bring the paper, crosswords, etc. There's a Tim Horton's at the gas station, and along Davie there are tons of eateries. So he needn't be totally sitting around.

Thanks! I think I've been stressing enough for the both of us... He lives in Vancouver, so I'm sure he will find something to do...

I just want him here as soon as possible... all these delays are killing me!

Perhaps double check with your Consulate there but when I had my medical done not too long ago in Australia I was required to present this to the panel doctor: http://canberra.usembassy.gov/consular/vis...nstructions.pdf

I think you'll be fine. Team J & B gave you good info. If he has the appointment letter fine, he can always tell them if they ask that there was a mix up with him faxing his own information and that's why the delay. I don't know if you posted this here or if someone moved it here, but you should post questions like this in the Canada forum as they're so specific to Canada someone who was at Dr.'s office would have the best answer.

you do need a appointment letter to show the doctor that you are scheduled for an interview with the consulate. if you received it you can fax him a copy of yours but if he has his own copy that will work.

Just to be on the safe side have him call the doctor office and ask them.

i was told by my doctor that we need the interview letter, copy of passport. original passport and two passport size pictures.
