Subject access Request

Hiya all Im just a bit confused and was wandering if those that are from UK recieved same letter as I did after filling out the Subject Access Form. This is what I got from National Identification Service, Subject Access Office, New Scotland Yard.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Section 7, Data Protection Act, 1998 - Subject Access

In reply to your request for information that may be held about you by the Leicestershire Constabulary on computers in the following categories:-

Person Record: Prosecution/Conviction

The Data Protection Act places an obligation on the Police when holding personal information on computer to provide a copy of that information (unless an exemption applies) to the individal concerned on request.

From the personal details supplied in your request there is no information held about you in the Person Record categopry of the Police National Computer.

If you requested any categories not shown above the Leicestershire Constabulary will send you a sepereate reply.

I am just confused because I read another thread here which had a link to the subject Access form to fill in and mine didnt look like that and I had no place to tick or mark what categories I was requesting. The local police station provided me with this form and I had to send a fee of £10. Does this letter sound correct?? I knopw I have been a good girl and I know I shouldnt be on any computer LOL.

Yep. That's a clean police report you're looking at.

Yup that's the same as the one I got for Merseyside Oh Yeah it has a blue stripe across the top and the bottom of the page.

Be advised tho, if you photocopy it the words FRAUD come up in HUGE letters right across the page on the copied version..

I copied mine as the Pkt 3 says 'copy all originals and bring both to interview'..nearly had heart failure when I saw how the copy of police report came out - luckily I'll be holding the original as well!

Thank you all for your responses it has put my mind at rest I put the request form in the mail on 20th March and I recieved the letter 27th april so yeah approx a month and a few days. Hope your's arrives soon

Yep, mine was similar to that.

Although I guess my workplace had a magic photocopier, or something. Because the word "Fraud" never showed up on them. But I did have the original to show them.
