My fiance said that the interview process was smooth and super fast. The questions asked were about him and what he is planning on doing once he is in the United States. They also asked how we met, how he proposed, and about our wedding plans.. |

A month before the interview we received an approval notice (email notification) that the green card was in production. We were so happy! So we waited and waited for the card to arrive... until the day of the interview was around the corner. With no card in hand, we didn't want to risk by not showing up at the interview, so we started frantically gathering stuff to prove our relationship is genuine.
The interview itself went Ok.. Among other things, he asked for a letter from the bank and a letter from my doctor that I am in fact pregnant. But we had neither of those. Instead, we gave him (1) a check (from our checkbook) where both of our names are listed and (2) an ultrasound picture of our baby. He hasitated at first, but still took these as evidence. (my heart sank when he took our baby's picture..)
We also gave him (3) our apartment lease; (4) a utility bill; and (5) a couple of wedding pictures. He said that we didn't give him much, as he also wanted to see my life insurance, 401K, health insurance, and/or car insurance. Nonetheless, he still approved us. So nice of him. =)
We asked him about our approval that had been sent to us a month ago. He said that some clerk must have made a mistake and there was no way he would have approved us without an interview..
He was a bit mean.. but who cares? We are approved and are done with this process for 2 years. |

According to my fiance Adilet, the interview process was very easy going and even fun! The Consul and Adilet made a few jokes here and there, so they broke the ice right away. The interview lasted for only a couple of minutes; about 5-7 simple qustions were asked. Overall, the experience was nice. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
