Comments : JUL-29-05: DCF attempt at consulate in Rio. Informed that rules changed beginning of July and DCF is not available to us. Asked why consulate website says DCF is still available, Vice Consul replies he "will look into it". Lesson learned: Call consulate first. Don't expect USDOS' websites to have correct info.

POE Date : 2006-04-04 Submit Review
Got EAD Stamp : No
Biometrics Taken : Yes
Harassment Level : 0
Comments : Missed our connecting flight because a misinformed official in entrance area told us to get in the wrong line. Later a more experienced, helpful official grabbed us from the wrong line (along with a single mother traveling with toddlers) and put us in a new short line he created. Sill missed flight with cat and all.

Comments : We were a bit worried going into interview, as we didn't have many joint accounts, only our apartment lease. We were honest and explained that we hadn't changed anything, like opening shared bank account, just for AOS process. Interviewer could see that this was a legitimate marriage and believed us when we said we'd been living together since wife entered US 4/2006. He told us that the lack of shared accounts wouldn't be a problem, but said he had to confirm our case with someone and therefore couldn't approve it at the interview itself. He said we would hear from them probably within 10 days or so. We got approval letter about a week later.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
