Embassy Review : My K-1 Fiance Visa interview was easy and painless. I was asked:
1)Where did you meet your fiancee?
2)How long have you known her?
3)How did you communicate?
4)Have you been to the USA before?
5)Has your fiancee been to Australia?
6)Have you ever been married?
7)Have you got any children?
8)Has your fiancee got children? and
9)Have you met them?
9)When do you plan to enter the US?
10)When do you plan to marry?
My appointment was for 9am (12Apr11). I stayed in the 'Pensione' Hotel in George St (near Central) the night before (even though I only live 1 hr from the CBD). I highly recommend this hotel. It is a boutique hotel and I paid just $95 for a single. The rooms are small though.
The hotel is 15 mins walk from the MLC Building.
I arrived at the consulate shortly after 8am and the queue for the security check took about 15 minutes. All up, the whole process took less than 90 mins so I was on my way home by 930am.
Unless you've got a very complicated or messy situation I would say to anyone who is going to a K-1 interview not to worry, it's basically a "rubber stamp" job. Just do your homework and have ALL your documents from your I-129f petition onwards. The only documents I was asked for were proof photos.
Rating : Very Good
