Embassy Review : |
Nothing too different from previous reviews. Matt came with me thinking he was going to drop me off and meet later but the lady out front encouraged him to enter the consulate with me. I didn't think he was allowed since the paper work states that only interpreters and special needs assistants can accompany those being interviewed. I guess US citizens are always welcome. It was great having him there for the LONG wait. We arrived earlier than our appointment time, went through the security and up to the interview floor. I was told to submit my documents to a certain window and the man there was nice and said everything looked good. H also told us there would be a 2 hour wait as they do all the visitor interviews before k1's. So, we sat and listened to all of the visitor interviews (mostly asians visiting Canada who want to cross the border to shop). The interviewer was pretty loud and denied about 4 people out of 70. Interviews take place at a window similar to a bank teller. It is not in a private room so everyone in the waiting room can hear. When it was finally our turn he had me do finger prints, asked us a few questions (how did we meet, when will I move, when will we get married, had I been to Houston in the summer) It wasn't bad at all and he made small talk with us. I think it helped having Matt right there. He checked over the papers (mostly spent time reading medical and affidavit of support). We were approved and then went back to the first window and were told the passport/visa will be sent to the location I selected (DHL). I had the medical at Woking the day before and it went smoothly. They are very nice, just follow all of the instructions on their website. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
