Embassy Review : |
I want to start off by saying that the staff at the Omaha office are awesome! They are very polite and always smiling. I had my citizenship interview scheduled for 10:30am. We arrived around 10am and made our way through security. The officer asked for my letter and ID and my husband's ID. They had us walk through the metal detector and then directed us towards the waiting area. There is a box to place your interview letter in and a nice, bright & comfortable waiting area. Right around 10:30 I was called back by officer Burke and taken to an office towards the end of the hallway. She had me place my things on one of the chairs and then raise my hand and swear to tell the truth. She then had me take a seat and asked for my green card, photo ID and most current passport. She then went over my application with me and had me sign in 2 different spots. Next was the English reading and writing test, followed by the civics test. She then congratulated me for passing the tests and recommended me for approval. She had me review a piece of paper for my certificate and sign the bottom. She informed me that normally they offer the option for a same day oath, but the person that does the certificates was out of the office for the week. She said that I should have my letter within 30 days. The entire interview process took 10-15 minutes. She was very polite and friendly and even asked about our kids. She said that she had a granddaughter that is the same age as my oldest. All in all, a great experience. |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
