Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 24, 2011
Embassy Review : Me and my husband went out from our hotel at around 05:15 AM. We walked towards the embassy and got there at around 5 minutes later. There were already 3 long lines waiting outside. I met Ann&Wes there. 06:05AM they let us in. I was asked to present my confirmation letter and valid ID. My husband presented his passport. We proceeded to the "immigrant and K visas only" counter and gave my confirmation letter. The lady gave me my priority number 6049. Then we were asked to proceed to the next building and enter door 3. We sat on the waiting area and waited for my number to be flashed on the screen. When it did, I proceeded to window 40 for finger scanning then went back to the waiting area. My number flashed again and my husband and I went to window 53 for pre-screening. She asked me and my husband the following questions: When and how did we meet, how many times my husband visited me, is my husband married before, how many children, what is his occupation, what is my occupation, who is (name of co-sponsor), when was our marriage, did i travel or work abroad. She also asked me if we have wedding pictures and if we bring copies of emails. She then asked us to sit and wait for our final interview. Number flashed on the screen again and we proceeded to window 62. He looked Asian to me but his accent is similar to a Caucasian. He asked me to raise my right hand and swear to answer truthfully before he asked me and my husband the following questions: What is my husband's occupation, how long has he been in his work, where he had been assigned, is he married before, how many children, what are thir ages. He also asked me how many guests attended our wedding, my husband's birthday, did I travel to other countries before or work there. Then he said "Your visa is approved" Then we were asked to proceed to window 72 to get the courier slip for visa delivery. We were out at 10:00AM.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
