Embassy Review : |
Interview was easy, everyone in the embassy was very friendly and helpful. Yet my advice - DON'T BUY YOUR PLANE TICKETS BEFORE YOU GET YOUR VISA IN HAND! At the consulate they ensured me that I will have my visa at 11.30 AM next day, so I asked them if it would be all right to get my tickets now, and answer was - sure! SO I came home and booked my flights for the day after the day I should have gotten my visa. Yet next morning when I was on my way to the US embassy I received a call from consulate telling me I shouldn't come as my visa is not ready yet. The reason was that they didn't get an answer about my fingerprints from US so they couldn't process my documents. And they couldn't say if they will get it that day! They told me just to wait for they call. I had the most stressful day in all this visa journey - I didn't know if i should change date of my flight (if I still would be able to, as earlier that morning I already checked-in), I knew I would lose quite a bit of money because of that, and not to mention losing another day (if only) - I was too anxious to get to my fiancee at last. Thanks God, I got a call from consulate at 4 PM that day - my visa was ready and my trip was saved. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
