POE Review: San Francisco
Event Description
Entry Date : 2011-06-23
Embassy Review : I listen to one VJ member and accompany my wife through the immigrant line instead of separating to the US line at the POE. The immigrant line was empty compare to the other line as other passenger went through customs.

The POE officer was nice, but my wife couldn't understand him because he had a lisp I was able to finally understand him after a few minutes.

1. He ask for my passport and her visa.
2. He took the brown visa package
3. He rescan her right fingers
4. Open up the visa package, stamps/staple, and made her sign 2 areas of a piece of paper which he gave to us
5. Told us about the 90 days prior to a 2 year to apply for a form which I don't remember right now
6. Ask question -It seem to be as if the question were directed to me more then my wife. At one point he ask me if my wife spoke English and that's when I encourage my wife to actually talk and say something in English. I think she was partly tired and kinda of nervous. Probably because I told her she might get interview again and get sent to an Secondary exam. She did not get any of that.
7. The officer did not look or even take the X-ray film that we hand carry in the airplane. I don't know why we carried it, maybe I saw some where on VJ.

It took about 10 minutes, the hard part was finding her 4 gigantic suitcase in the baggage claim area.

Over all the POE area went well. I guess I stress out because I heard bad POE stories.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
