Arrived in Newark, NJ. Had the POE interview. It was awful. They were very snide and nasty about our relationship. |

The interview was scary. We didn't have enough evidence. We were very fortunate to be approved but the interviewer was very straight-forward in saying that if we don't have enough evidence in the next couple years, we 'won't like the outcome.' |

Embassy Review : |
This is what my fiance wrote to me immediately after the interview:
So first things first, I left early and got to Paddington early in case there were any problems with travel or storing my bags and stuff. There weren't any problems and I arrived at Bond Street Station (round the corner from the embassy) at 8:00.
So I loafed around in the station until 8:20 and then zipped off to the embassy! Like half the people in the queue were sent back because they had electronics. derp. But I didn't have anything so I went through pretty quick. I arrived at the reception at 8:29. They looked at my appointment letter and my passport, visually checked I was the same guy as the one photographed in the passport, and then I got given a ticket number and got sent through to the waiting room.
I was given the ticket number I913 *memorized it* and there were TONS of people in there. But almost all of them were for non-immigrant visas (N numbers, not I numbers). There was a cute couple ahead of me. They were I911. I didn't see any other immigrants. I twiddled my thumbs nervously for about half an hour and by that time I was kinda like 'Haha, my number ends in 13, that's nice and lucky...now all I need is to get called up to Window 13 as well...' and, uh, yeah, like five minutes later NOW SERVING TICKET NUMBER I-913 AT WINDOW #13. I was a little O_O at my accidental prediction and went to the window, where I met with two nice people. They got my file and brought it out and gave me a CD with my medical exam results on it, which I will need to present to the immigration officers at the point of entry.
Then they asked if I had an affidavit of support and I said yes and they asked for the forms so I gave them all of them and she looked at me kinda funny and said 'NAME OF OUR CO-SPONSOR, WHO IS MALE'? That's not your fiancee right?' and I was like 'oh no that's my cosponsor' and she said 'Ohh okay we only need to see your fiancee's stuff, but hold onto that for the adjustment of status.' So they took in the forms you did. Then I submitted my police certificate and my birth certificate.
Then I had an interview:
"Where did you guys meet?" and I said "We met on an online game called Star Conquest in 2005." I smiled and said "We got to know each other better outside the game and we quickly became good friends." and she asked if we were engaged (hurrr) and I said "Yep!" and she asked how I proposed and I said "We had been talking about it for a while, but just before I came back to England after I went over to the States in 2010 I asked her if she'd like to get married " and they were both like "Awww!" and the one talking to me said "And she said yes, of course!" and I nodded. And they asked if I had a date in mind and I said "October 22nd." and she asked if I was having a honeymoon and I said "No, probably not." and she said that was a good thing since I wasn't allowed to leave having entered without forfeiting my visa unless I file an adjustment of status.
And that was the whole interview. She gave me a form to fill out for the courier stuff and I filled it out and was told I would be called up again in about twenty minutes so I waited and then came back again, to a different window, and the lady there asked me where we met and I told her the same thing I told the others last time and she nodded and said that the visa has been approved and told me some details about the courier service and took my forms and gave me some details for tracking the delivery. And then I was done! |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
