Embassy Review : |
Leaving Bristol at 3am to make suren I was in London on time was horrid but sailed into London Victoria station at 6.20am. My appointment was at 9.30am but needed to find the embassy and drop off electricals at Goulds Pharmacy down the road. Plus, I had heard, if u get there early, you could be seen early!
Found the embassy, and the pahrmacy didnt open until 7.30am so went next dorr to have a cup of coffee. Dropped my stuff off at the paharmacy at 7.20 - run very well- and very stress free. Then made my way down to the embassy - as soon as you get outside u will see where you need to queue. I was at the embassy for 7.25am and there were about 25 people in front of me and the line behind me grew bigger by the minute - if I have one tip - it is to get there as early as you can!!!
About 7.30am they started opening security - paperwork ( your appointment letter- your pssport and MRV) is needed here. You then go in batches of 4 through security lines - no electricals whatsoever- and then proceed to walk around the side of the building into the main reception. This is where your number is given to you. I was I901, looking like there was one person for immigrant visa in front of me. By this time it was about 7.45.
Went and found a seat in the waiting room, there are big screens in the middle to wacth for your number - about 8am they started opening up windowns and numbers were called. Only after about 15 minutes was my number called. Went to the first window. Nice lady but could hardly hear her through the glass and couldnt make out alot of what she was saying other than moaning that K1's required so much paperwork! She asked me for my passport, apointment letter, and MRV and 2 photographs. She was going through the computor and dissapreared for about 5 minutes ( I was so nervous I thought there was a problem) but she just came back with a big file with my name in it ( your med results and all of your packet 3) - she then asked for BC & copy and PC and copy. She gave both photos back to me along with a CD. I was then asked for the I-134 and I handed her that and all the evidence - she took most of it other than wageslips. But she did look at them. Here I would suggest you take all money related eveidence with you. As she took all of mine and commented on how much money Matt makes and his job. She did ask a few questions about his job at this point. But it sounded more out of interest then she didnt believe me. She then handed me my BC back - kept everything else - and the pink courier form and told me to go sit back down. It was 8.30am at this point! I only waited about 15 minutes before being seen for the first interview. When i went and sat back down i saw other I numbers being called and they were at I910 already so i assume the earlier you are there the better!!! Plus heaps and heaps of N numbers.
About half an hour later I was called to the second window ( away from the waiting room) and my second interview had started. I approached the window to a nice amercian man, and he had all my file. He got me to swear on aoth and sign the part 2 of the one of the forms. He then asked me - tell me a little baout how you met, i told him the story and then he hasked about Matts job and how long he had been an officer. He then asked if we had met each others family, asked when I plan to travel and where I was going to live. He then asked if we had set a date. And that was it. No evidence required. He then proceeded to tell me about the K1 etc etc and how long I had to use it and went through AOS. Then said ok Lisa congratulations, you are free to go and your visa is approved.
Went back out to the waiting room where the courier desk is and paid for a pre 8am delivery. He said it should be with me in about 7 days. And walked out the embassy. It was 9.20am at this point! 10 Minutes before my interview was even scheduled so the early bird gets the worm! Earlier your there- earlier you are seen!! Then did a little jump for joy and went shopping on oxford street.
Exciting but very exhausting day but finally the visa is on its way.
Good Luck to al and than you all so much for everyones help. These reviews helped alot too!! xx |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
