Embassy Review : |
This review is as per my soon to be husband
His appointment was scheduled for July 1 @ 9am he arrived at the embassy at 7:45am. He paid a gentleman to hold his phone ($300J). The CO reviewed his forms and instructed him to join the line. They only asked for 4 pictures and the lady began to fuss because I typed SO details on the back of the picture -- he told me that "til now I didn't ask her".
After moving through various lines he was called by the interviewer, the CO was an American woman, possibly bi-racial (coolie as my SO mentioned). She reviewed our paper work, began typing and asked the following:
How did you and your fiance meet?
She type more details in and said you are approved! She only asked ONE question! She explained the process of paying DHL, the projected time frame and extended her congraduations.
SO paid DHL and was sent on his merry way -- he called me as soon as he got his phone back at 1:42pm EST (12:42pm in JA)
Some tid bits:
-- two people were not approved due to not having enough financial information/proof. In our case the CO didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t even look at our pictures.
-- Arriving too early creates a greater level of stress (as per SO)
-- SO found that the checklist in packet 4 was extremely helpful the night before...double check that you have everything.
-- I organized the forms according to how they would take them (access to embassy folder- interview letter, specific forms), financial documentation with form, proof of relationship....in short there were four folders.
Future hubby gave the interview experience a 5...let's see if the visa arrives with the 2 week time frame

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
