Comments : We finally got the Visa. She bought the ticket for travel to USA.

Our case is still pending AP as of May 05, 2011. It is very frustrating process.

As of 4/12/2011, Visa application is still in AP as per DOS.

I got email from the US Embassy Islamabad, that my wife case is now in AP state. This as of March 14, 2011.

As of March 10, no Visa. However responding to my email, embassy told me that they have received the birth certificate. Email is dated March 01. They will review and contact us after the review.

Embassy has not responded to my recent email about status of the Visa.

So I requested my congressman. I hope it will not make embassy angry and they delay issuing of visa as congressman office contact them.

As of Feb 23, my wife managed to find the original birth certificate. She sent by courier service to ISLAMABAD.

We are hoping that she may get Visa in 6 to 10 days.

My wife went for the interview. Her appointment letter clearly stated birth certificate has status of "O". Birth certificate has been received and accepted as meeting post requirements. However CO asked for original again from my wife. She told them that her husband has sent it to NVC. However CO insisted that there is no original in the file and she was to told to bring original birth certificate in a day or two and than they will give the VISA. Meanwhile she has denied Visa letter for the absence of original birth certificate. We do not know what to do? She will try to get another birth certificate. Meanwhile I wrote to the embassy to look again as it is clearly written in the appointment letter. I also requested my congressman to help us. Congressman help may take several week. Please let me know anyone else got similar situation where NVC failed to send the original documents to Islamabad.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
