Embassy Review : I had a 7:00 interview in Kingston. Left my home (Trelawny) 2:30 a.m. and arrived at the embassy at 5:45 a.m. There will be several men standing on the roadside trying to get you to park in certain spots for money. You dont have to park their you can try parking in other areas several feet before you reach the embassy. There were many persons already ilined up. Please note that there are two separate lines outside the embassy. Make sure you stand in the shorter line that is to the right of the embassy. I stood in the wrong line for a long time and as a result i almost ended up at the back of trhe correct line. They started letting people in at about 6:45. Ensure you have the following documents out before you reach in:

1) appointment letter
2) Passport
3) 2 (not four) passport size pics (They will ask you to write your full name lightly on the back of them

You will then go through security check and then sit orderly in the park in the embassy. The next door will open at about 7:00 0'clock. Please have the following documents out at this time:

1) Appointment letter (they will take this from you and you'll not get it back)
2) Passport(they'll ask you to write the passport# ion the yellow DHL slip)

After you pass through that little area they will then direct you to the main section on the right where everything takes place for persons who are filing. There are only five counters in the section labelled as follows:

9, 8, 7, 6, 5

After a good while counter you will be called up to one of two counters(5 or 6) where they will ask you for your medical, passport, 2 passport size pics and any other document that may not be on file. They will also ask you to pay a fee of US$4 or JM$360 because the visa fee increased in July. You will then do fingerprinting and go back to your seat. After a good enough time windows 9,8,7 will open up. This is where everything starts. When my number was called i was asked the following questions:

Who is filing for you? (my husband's first and last names)
How long have you known him for? (we grew up together)
Have you ever been to the states? (yes)
Have you ever stayued over 6 months? (no)
What is his address in the states?
What type of work does he do?
Does he have any children? (1 child bourne by me)
Do you have the child's Birth certificate? (gve him the BC and her US pport)
(I gave birth in Jamaica and did a CRBA to get my daughter's US citizenship)

There were a few other questions after which he said "Thank you Maam, take this down to counter #26." He gave me a little card and when I went to counbter 26 I realised it was DHL!

Pointers:

Dress appropiately. I wore my uniform to look professional.
Speak intelligently and with confidence. (they want sensible people in their country)
Let your personality beam in the waiting room and socialize with everyone there. (I think they may be watching you through cameras)
Appear to be organised.
Give a little smile now and then in the interview but do not appear as if you are sucking up.
Be polite and Use 'Yes sir' and 'No maam' intermittently.

Getting approved is a good feeling. You'll feel as if you are floating on a cloud when you get outside. All the best and God Bless!!!!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
