The interview was nice. The only thing he asked was what I inted to do in the U.S. for a living. He looked briefly at the proof and checked the I 134 and supporting documents. The interview took about 7 minutes, I would say. The officer was very, very friendly. Make sure you have your medical done prior to your interview. If you want to know right away if you're approved, you have to have the medical exam results sent to the embassy a week beforehand. Otherwise they'll tell you, that everything is ok, but they can't tell you that you're approved yet. |

We had our interview today with a female officer and a female observer. The lady who interviewed us had a poker face, so it was hard to tell what was going through her mind.
These are the questions they asked us:
- What is your spouse's birthday?
- Where did you meet (you have to tell them EXACTLY where you meet and in which month and year)?
- Why did you not get married in your home country?
- Why did your parents or other family members come to the wedding?
- Was it not important to you that your family did not come?
- Show me some proof of your bonafide marriage (rental agreement, shared account, photos, pieces of mail)
- What is your occupation?
They then pushed our file to the side and said we would hear from them. I thought they would approve us right away, but only later today I checked my status online and it said "CARD PRODUCTION"
I was so relieved. The interview was not a very pleasant experience and it is hard to talk about your very important relationship to your spouse about somebody you don't even know at all. They did not ask for all the documents listed on the interview notice, but I felt much safer bringing them. Also, we brought tons of proof of our now almost 5-year-long relationship, so that helps as well.
Good luck to everyone. I will go celebrate with my hubby now!! |

The interview took all together about 5-7 minutes.
Questions asked:
- What is your fiance's name?
- When do you plan on getting married?
- Where and when did you meet?
- How long have you been doing the long distance relationship thing?
It went really smooth and the officer was superfriendly. He said that most people who get in don't know yet, when they'll do the wedding exactly and that he appreciates knowing that we had a set date. Ergo: It's smart to book a civil ceremony before you enter the country and show that proof, too. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
