Embassy Review : |
Before my interview the embassy has been very helpful with answering my questions online, and making the process faster by communicating through email rather than snail mail.
Only negative thing would be that you can not call them for visa information, which can be a problem when you need urgent help.
Interview:
At 8AM 28th of July 2010, I got to the American Embassy in Oslo. I was the first in line. My appointment was at 9AM. A few more people arrived as we waited outside the gate for the approval list for today's interviews.
I was the first one inside. The security went fast, I just put my cell phone and a few items in a box there, and were told to wait inside.
There I spoke to a man, paid the cash fee, spoke to a lady who took my papers, and then I was asked to wait. At this point it was about 8.30AM.
At about 9.00PM I was called forward for my interview. A very nice young man conducted the interview. It was a little hard to hear through the glass, but I understood him well.
He asked questions like how did we meet, how we had traveled to one another, about why I wanted to marry just him, about him and his family, about his job, how we communicated etc. He also made a joke about how we met on XBL, since there generally are a lot of jerks on XBL.
The interview took about 10 minutes. He then told my all the paperwork seemed to be in order, and gave me a receipt to pick up my passport in a few days. I asked him \"so, does that mean my visa is approved?\" to which he responded that, as long as there was nothing horribly wrong with my fingerprints, or all their computers melted, it should be. I\'m sure at this point I could not stop smiling. I was asked to pick it up either at the end of this week or beginning of next.
I asked if I would have it for sure by the end of next week, which he assured me as long as everything was ok with the fingerprints (which I know it will be), so I am about to book my tickets to travel, to start my life with my amazing fiance. :D
All in all a great interview experience, everyone was very helpful and nice.

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
