Comments : Around 6-9-2010 I called USCIS and asked for expedition due to pregnancy of Beneficiary. One week later I was approved (I was asked to send in proof and I did, however, this information was not received before approval of I130. According to the I130 case approval times for CSC from this website my case was already a couple weeks past due.

The time between optin to electronic processing and getting accepted for electronic processing was about 15 days (June 24th - July 9th) but I never received any email from NVC. So, I lost 5 days because of this (docs sent out July 14th). SO CALL TO FIND OUT WHEN ELECTRONIC PROCESSING HAS BEEN APPROVED! I was advised by NVC to resend in the optin for electronic processing on 7-8-2010 which I did and sent I864 as well at their request. As soon as electronic processing has been granted (call NVC) SEND EVERYTHING. Don't wait for GZO! I think everyone should be in and out of NVC in three weeks without unexpected problems.

It wasnt until July 28th that I official heard from NVC regarding electronic processing at which time I got GZO#. I do not understand the time lag of over one month from optin to GZO #.

Consulate Review: Guangzhou, China

Event Description
Review Date : October 5, 2010
Embassy Review : The Consulate of Guangzhou. It is in Tianyu Garden. Basically the consulate is tucked between two apartment towers. It actually looks as if it could be connected to the two but I doubt they are.

At the Airport get in row 6B for the bus shuttle that goes to Zhong Xin Plaza and close to the consulate. This was within walking distance of hotel.
We stayed in the building on one side of the consulate. We contacted Mr. Yang (whom we had previously called to rent a room) and he actually met us as we got of the bus at Zhong Xin Plaza. Very nice fellow and accomodating room wasn't really clean, needs every kind of updating.

In the morning you will be seperated into rows outside the front entryway of the consulate just before the steps. Divided by visa types. Ask the guards for direction on which row you need to stand.

You will accompany your special someone up to the fourth floor I think it is. Escalators will take you there. You can stand in line then go to the circa 60's coffee lounge where the waitresses will bully you into getting that first drink which is quite expensive for Chinese standards. The ones to follow are easier to swallow. I waited about 2 hours I think. People who have gone through the process at the consulate will go down escalators (back door to the fifth floor) different than those they entered and will walk right by the coffee lounge from right to left.

That day I talked to two other guys from the USA. Both good gents and all got pink slips. We stayed in Guangzhou to wait for the Visa - this could have been a mistake....

I had my passport stolen the day after this - that is another story I will tell if someone would like to tell me where to put it on the forum.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
