AOS Interview, Garden City, NY
Arrived at 9:30 for a 10:00 AM interview, droppped pur interview letter and were asked to wait to be called. We were called with a group of about 50 more people and escorted to the second floor, there we waited a bit longer. At about 10:45 we were called for out interview. The officer asked me how we met, where we lived, if my wife had children and where were the children, at this point the officer seemed a little concerned with the fact that the kids have been away from their mother for a year (I actually found that very nice), he asked who is taking care of them and I said they have a nanny who's been with them for almost 9 years, I also told him I had already filed I-130's for them, this changed everything, he seemed a lot more comfortable hearing that and after that we were done in a little over 15 minutes.
The IO called for and interpreter and asked my wife the same questions he asked me, then the yes/no questions on the forms, he asked for pictures (kept one), any aditional evidence, and then said the wonderful words "I am going to approve this, you will have to wait for about an hour so you can get your passport stamped".
All and all a very easy and pleaseant experience. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
