Well, the people at the consulate were very friendly in general. The girl that first checked the documents was very kind.
First this girl asks you to put the documents in a determined order, then you need to give the documents to these people (Brazilians) in cabines. The guy asked why the Tax Return of my Fiance was missing, and I said that the avidafit support instructions specified the Tax Return to Self-employed people, not to people with permanent jobs (my Fiance works for Accenture). He said it was WRONG, and that the consul would check if the finnacial proves were good enough...
This guy wasn't exactly rude, but I think it was very funny that he said what I mentioned was WRONG, because first it is in the instructions we got from the consulate (I read it again later to check), and second 4 other girls I talked to said their Fiances did the same thing, no Tax Return.
Anyway, that wasn't WRONG or a problem after all. After we got fingerprinted, the consul called us by number. He was very polite. My entire interview was in english. He basically only asked me for 2 questions: * What did ou study in U.S. (I was in a sandwich program for my PhD); * and Was that how you met Anthony (My Fiance's middle name is Anthony, but I said Mike back, since I didn't know if he was tricking me...)
He asked me to sign the sworn of statement, said my fingerprints would be checked, what would take 2 days, and that my passport would be sent back to me through mail, and I should pay the fee.
That was it! Apparently approved hehe.
Still waiting on my passport though... |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
