Comments : Received my NOA1 by mail actually on 08/13/2010 & the date of the postage stamp was 08/03/2010.

Had so many problems with the Embassy. They said they mailed her passport/Visa 2 days after her interview but actually after over $50 in phone cards I verified that the shipping company sent it back to the Embassy but they never told us at all! I had plans to pick her up on March 15th but she didn't have her passport and nobody knew anything.I called and emailed Embassodor with no response. I finally found out you can press 0 to talk to operator is the only way to get to Immigration department and it must be between 2-4pm Manila time.I had to demand to talk to the Embassador and I was transfered to his secretary twice who transferred me to the Cheif of immigration and I talk to the secretary of the Chief both had told me they are in meetings everytime I called and tried so many times to resolve this. Denise Castro in immigration said she can only come to pick it up March 14th 10am so I wasted more money to buy her a roundtrip plane ticket to Manila. Then I talked to the Chief's assistant and he said she can get it anytime, but she also needed to take a seminar after she gets the passport, but then the seminar gave her problems so I had to spend much more money to change our plane tickets again and spend more money in Manila. My Wife is 22,but they said now that she needs parents consent and she needs to know my Moms Maiden name by heart. We had to go to her hometown to get consent from her Mom. I work for the Government and I know they have not followed their S.O.P.'s(Standard operating procedures) I will sue the Department of State for this.Msg me if u want to join me if u had a similiar situation. So much money, time and anxiety for both of us and health. I have evidence of everything including recorded phone calls.

Comments : I had to contact my Senator because our case was still pending because of "background checks pending" after nearly 11 months! Finally because of my Senator we have an interview date Dec. 4th, 2014.My wife is eligible to apply for citizenship on tha date too, but we will wait to see what happens I guess.

UPDATE: Green card is now in the mail and we are waiting for it. The interview on 12-4-14 went very well. The interviewer was friendly but he also was rushing us so he could go home. He just verified info was still the same and asked if we had anything else to submit that's new. He didn't require us to provide what the notice asked for but we brought it anyway. The interview was just 15-20 minutes with the 2 of us together. He said he will pass it to a supervisor and they will probably approve it and they did almost a week later.

One problem with the interview is that the guy couldn;t hear to well and I said over and over that my wife's extension letter expired that day but he seemed to misunderstand me and kept saying the letter is proof that the case is pending and she is still legal but I'm pretty sure a cop wouldn't let an expired letter work for ID. I was pissed that the guy was just trying to leave instead of renewing the extension letter. We just drove very carefully after the interview and still will until we get the new green card.

Update: 12-18-14 or so we got the new green card in the mail

The interview was good, the officer was nice. He tried to be funny to help me relax. He only asked me 6 civics question and I got 100% right. I only had to read 1 sentence instead of 3 and write 1 instead of 3.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
