Hi Guys,
I just had my interview at Mumbai embassy on monday. Everything went well and visa got approved. I am going to write down here whatever I remember, hopefully it will help you guys.
My interview was scheduled at 7:30 AM. I had VFS ticket so went to VFS around 6:40 AM. The bus from VFS left around 7:10 AM. We had to wait till the embassy gate opens. It didnt open till 7:50. After gate was open they took 7:30 AM immigration applicants inside.
First thing we did was got our fingerprints on Window 2.
Then we waited for our name to be called. My name was called on Window 12. An indian lady there gave me back my Birth Certificate and some other documents I submitted at VFS.
She also asked me few questions:
How did me and my fiance meet?
What am I doing rightnow? work or study?
She asked for Demand Draft, the exchange rate was changed on friday so she gave me a yellow slip, and asked me to come back in an hour with Demand Draft of correct amount.
There are couple banks around embassy, so keep cash money around 20,000 Rs with you just in case. So I got Demand Draft and got back in and my name was again anounce around 9:15 AM. It was the indian lady again. She took the new Demand Draft, asked me to write my name in the back of DD , and also took that yellow entry slip. She asked me to wait again till my name is called.
Around 10:00 AM my name was called for Window 9.
A white guy in early 40s with that indian lady were gonna interview me.
First of all the white guy told me to take an oath that whatever I say is going to be truth and correct.
So the white guy asked me following questions:
1.) How did you two meet?
2.) What do my fiance's parents do?
3.) What is my fiance's annual income?
4.) When and why did you come back from USA?
5.) Where does your mother stay currently?
6.) How did your mother get in USA?
7.) When did your sister become citizen of USA?
8.) When did you last see your fiance?
9.) Do you have pictures with your fiance?
10.) Let me see call logs and all emails.
11.) Do you have a USA number? (since I had a magicjack, i had USA number)
12.) What is your USA number? (All I remembered was last 4 digits of the number)
And after long discussions with the indian lady beside him (I could not hear it because I was asked to step outside the cabin for a while since they were discussing something), the white guy said 'you will get your visa within a week'.
So happy now. Going to be with my fiance very soon.
