ARRIVAL AT THE EMBASSY
I want to thank God for being faithful. My fiance leaves far from the embassy,so he had to leave home about 4 a.m. in order to beat the heavy lagos traffic. He got to the embassy around 4.45am.The car park wasn't yet opened ,so he had to wait for like an hour before it was eventually opened. He then proceeded to the waiting bay for applicants. One of the security officers attached to the embassy came to instruct those for immigrant visas and carrying the x-rays,to open them and bring out a sealed white envelope in the x-ray file and open it.Another came to announce that those for 6 a.m,6.30a.m and 7 a.m appointments should line up.The line for DV and IV applicants was different. He went in to meet the nigerian officials checking appointment letters and other details. He was given a slip instructing how much to be paid.He then proceeded for a security check before being ushered into the embassy complex. After making payment to the cashier,he encountered another security check before entering into the interview hall.Got into the hall around 7.45a.m and was waiting to be called. It wasn't his turn until around 11.15a.m,when a lady CO called out the number he was given outside the embassy complex.
THE INTERVIEW
IV number 19 please, move to counter 10.He then stood up and proceeded to the counter, exchanged greetings and was told to raise his right hand and declare to say the truth,to which he responded in the affirmative. He did his biometrics and she began questioning him:
Is this your application?she said, raising up the unsigned DS 156,which she then gave to him to append his signature.
1.Who filed for you?
2.When and where did you first meet her?
3.When did she go to the US?
4.Where did she live when she got to the US?
5.Where does she live now?
6.Did she go to school and where?
7.What does she do now?
8.When last did you see her?
9.When did you propose to her?
10.When and when will you get married?
All within 5 minutes, direct and accurate answers were supplied to the questions. She then went on to say in her words,"Your fiancee had done a good job in proving your relationship, you must thank her a great deal".She also went on to say that she believes our relationship is genuine and that she will be issuing the visa in which he should pick up at the given date
and specified address on the leaflet he was given.According to him,he wasn't even asked to present any form of evidence which he brought along with him, including his call data records and mine, photo album, affidavit of support,to mention a few.He stepped out around 11.20a.m and sent me a text message reading"COMING TO AMERICA,STARRING HIM".Immediately i saw the message, i gave him a call and he told me the great news.
God was definitely @ work here. |

Timeline Comments: None yet, be the first!
*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
